We had several in the master bathroom last night... more than I’ve noticed in prior years.
Good thing I hosed off my patio yesterday- This morning it’s covered with their wings.

they are more than like flying ants , not actually termites.
Look at them closer to tell the difference.
I had them (flying ants) swarming my new house recently and at first thought they were termites and was passed because of the termite treatments on new house shohldve prevented them...

I looked at all 8 that I was able to get...they were definitely flying termites.

I saw 4-5 last night crawling the beams in my attic.
Had sentricon system put around the perimeter of my house last year after liquid treatment for years.
Anybody know if Sentricon will kill termites already in your house?
I suspect LaPest Control will say their warranty is invalid because termites didn’t enter the home from the ground.

Glad I wasn’t the only one. Good hundred or so entered by house in Destrehan. Figured the flooding the night before didn’t help matters.

What area are you in? My house is mainly brick round Cedarcrest but my folks whose aren’t are in Sherwood. By the way certain plants like marigolds, garlic, catnip, peppers and spearmint repel termites.

We easily vacuumed up 100s or even thousands last night and this morning. Called my pest control and due to the amount coming in, they are reinspecting my house Wednesday. Woman on the phone asked “how many did you see last night”. I laughed. Too many to count.

Was in South BR last night. Watching TV in the back of the house and when I came into the kitchen probably 30 or so had gotten inside which I proceeded to murder and found literally hundreds either on or around the back door.
Killed every light in the house which helped a ton but good God that shite was bordering on biblical.

Yeah, new house under contract. They dug around the house perimeter and installed some barrier thing.

Assuming the house was framed with treated wood you have nothing to worry about. They got through your vented soffits likely.
Now if you have boxes of paper stored in the attic then that could be an issue. Termites love paper.

Thinking about taking a tube of Sentricon bait from outside and putting it up in my attic for a short time. I figure it can't hurt and would likely kill any that flew in as opposed to underground travelers trying to colonize in my house.
Any thoughts on that from those who know more than me?

Yeah, I think this is a possible entrance, and probably my ridge vents also. They have a plastic mesh guard, but the holes look large enough for the bugs to get thru - my attic is full of dead termites.

I’m sure it’s been said but Termites swarm in late April through early May in the south as they look to create new colonies. Similar to honey bees. They are attracted to lights so it helps to turn off your outdoor lights and close your blinds this time of year to prevent attracting them as much as possible.
No matter what kind of termite treatment or prevention you do it doesn’t matter, they swarm from a long ways away once a colony is 3-5 years old it is big enough to start swarming.
The only time to really worry is if you have them coming out of your house. They’ll cut through your Sheetrock and fine exterior holes to exit so the flyers can go out and search for new homes.
