Just doesn't add up. A seemingly normal guy, with only a traffic violation for previous law enfractions, pulls off the biggest massacre in our country's history?

Great. Here come the conspiracy theorists now. Might as well throw out a few possible ones.

Conspiracy theory #1: He didn't kill anyone, someone else took over his room, killed him, and escaped before police arrived.

Conspiracy theory #2: He was blackmailed into doing it by the government.

Conspiracy theory #3: The Illuminati group were in charge of this and framed him.

you forgot the whole, communications went down across the country and there is a vote on "silencers" due up, angle

I don't think it would have taken that much planning either... but how did he get the hotel room?

You couldn't just book that the week of unless you got lucky?

Again, prime event across the street... I doubt Luxor or Mandalay Bay had much, if any, availability, much less a room he needed specific for these acts.

The blown out windows are high and right on the building. The gif someone posted earlier with muzzle flashing was from a lower floor towards the center of the building. Anyone notice this? I'm guessing that gif was from a different event.

Add that to the odd list. Wtf.

Obviously I can't speak to availability, but hotels rooms are more flexible than one would think. You just have to ask.

Thing is, most normal folk take the room as assigned and go about their day, so they aren't familiar with how much you can move around a hotel if you request. They'll "bump" people who don't request anything because they wouldn't notice the difference anyways.

So if two rooms are the same to the hotel, and I request Room B and the people assigned to B haven't requested anything, the hotel will move people around, if all else is equal regarding status and such.

Could the TV have been on and causing light pops. Why are those windows not blown out?

I like Dan B saying he was going to get his gun. Like at 400 yards or so what was he going to do?

Kind of answers the question right there I think.

Not too many people have a defined response plan to the ol' "My brother committed the largest mass shooting in American history" situation

Exactly the reason why you wouldn't want to talk to the press in the immediate aftermath.

And most folks going to a Bro-Country fest aren't springing for a suite. Why would they? You're just gonna drink, go to festival, go drink after show, and pass the frick out.

A suite is a waste of money for most of that crowd during that weekend. Like staying at The Ritz or The Omni in NOLA for Mardi Gras?

Maybe he was a regular at M resorts and had preference. There's that possibility too. So many facts to know to make any kind of determination, really... but I still stick to the fact that he was just on a tailspin from events happening in his life and just wanted to see the world burn. Pre-meditated for months or not, doesn't matter. He "snapped" at some point and never looked back.

So far, #1 is far easier to believe than anything else. Not sure what they mean by "platforms" and the cameras thing, bizarre.

I actually read about something that was almost this exact scenario in a book called Enemies Foreign and Domestic about a 8 years ago.

Enemies foreign and Domestic

Basically it was someone shooting into a stadium and causing a stampede and the resulting backlash caused a weapons ban and roundup.

It was pretty conspiracy theory but eerily similar.

I think he is a fricking lying loser, but you don't think a gun could kill at 400 yards?

"platforms"

bed frame and box spring would be a pretty good platform for shooting from the prone position

Pretty much every shooting spurns the gun control debate. Obama would immediately run to his podium to politic once news broke.

There are cameras everywhere and investigators are going to go back and track his every move. If someone else is involved, they will be on camera.
