Looks like the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Looks like his dad was an experienced criminal:

The father of Las Vegas madman Stephen Paddock was a “psychopath” himself — a bank robber who escaped federal prison in the late 1960s and landed on the FBI’s most-wanted list, according to reports.

Paddock’s dad was serial felon Benjamin Haskins Paddock, according to the Daily Mail and a tweet from NBC.

Benjamin Paddock had been locked up in 1960 for robbing an Arizona bank, escaped in 1968 and spent nearly three years on the run before the FBI caught up to him in Las Vegas in 1971, at which point he tried to run down an agent with his car, according to archival editions of the Tuscon Daily Citizen.

I mean I wouldn't "request" that specific room. But if that's the one the desk agent assigns me, then it's whatev. Then again, I've worked in a hotel and I've seen some pretty crazy stuff. Nothing phases me in hotel rooms anymore.

The blown out windows are high and right on the building. The gif someone posted earlier with muzzle flashing was from a lower floor towards the center of the building.

Anyone notice this? I'm guessing that gif was from a different event.

But you said:

it’s safe to assume he was there as well.

Suddenly your assumption seems not so safe to make.

Who is Stephen Paddock? Las Vegas shooter, 64, was licensed pilot and hunting enthusiast with no criminal record who owned a $400,000 home in nearby retirement community
The man suspected of killing over 50 people and injuring 400 when he opened fire on concertgoers Sunday night has been identified as Stephen Paddock
His dead body was discovered by police in a room on the 32nd floor of the Manderlay Bay Resort following the deadliest mass shooting in US history
Paddock, 64, lived just 90 minutes outside Las Vegas in the city of Mesquite, where he bough a home in a retirement community back in 2015
He lived at the $400,000 property with Marilou Danley, 62, the same woman police sought out for questioning about the terror attack
Paddock had hunting and fishing licenses as was as his pilot's license, and may have worked at Lockheed Martin as an auditor according to public records
He had no criminal record in the state of Nevada and officials said at a press conference early Monday that they are still looking into his possible motive

This, to me, does no sound like a man that could be capable of this. This whole thing seems off. There have to be multiple layers to this and I'm curious to see what they find when they begin to peel them back.

Who, other than a twisted person would want to stay in that room?

It's just a room. I mean, if you know about the incident and it was that room and want to be moved I'm sure they'd accommodate.

I think a new maintenance or facilities room has been born. Or a big assed storage closet.

I doubt the Mandalay Bay wants anything to do with some type of memorial or museum? It's still a solid Vegas resort. It ain't top tier anymore but it's not like it's The Riviera in 2010 either.

Well it’s safe to assume that last year she didn’t need to be out of the country so she could have an alibi while he shot hundreds of people

Shooters view likely resembled this. Very surprised there were not more casualties or wounded given the situation. Prayers sent up for LV

What was there before. We stayed in Vegas last in 2008?

Great. Here come the conspiracy theorists now. Might as well throw out a few possible ones.

Conspiracy theory #1: He didn't kill anyone, someone else took over his room, killed him, and escaped before police arrived.

Conspiracy theory #2: He was blackmailed into doing it by the government.

Conspiracy theory #3: The Illuminati group were in charge of this and framed him.

Any others?

ISIS is claiming responsibility (not that it means anything), but maybe they had something on him, or found a way to force his hand in it.

I'm sure the criminal background of his father will also play some sort of a role in this as well.

I don't think this is a conspiracy, but the facts don't add up at all. Most of these incidents are pretty clear. This is as if you grabbed a random grandfather off the street and told me he'd kill dozens.

Why?

This isn't super complicated at all.

All the facts don't come out immediately. It's only been a little over 12 hours since it happened.

Can we let all the facts come out?

Who could know at this point, but that's a hell of a lot of planning, preparing and execution for anything even close to some hard luck case from divorce or gambling or even some "typical" crazy theater or crowd shooter. This took a very high level of motivation and dedication to carry out in this manner.

Makes me think of the pilot suicides with Germanwings (Lufthansa) and the Malaysia Airlines deal.

The first one, like the Egypt Air suicide, don't take much planning, but clearly show those that are suicidal will take innocents with them. As for Malaysia, IIRC correctly they did eventually find suspicious activity on that pilot's flight simulator showing preparation. These individuals took a few hundred with them.

So it lends itself to the possibility someone in that mindset can seriously plan such an event.
