Most modern fire suppression systems are localized and aren’t water.
I don't think this is the case. Localized yes.
I have to believe they are mainly water outside of special things like server rooms and what not that require chemical suppression.
Chemical suppression is far more expensive and requires pressure testing of rooms and things like that. Large open areas at hotel would never pass a pressure test and would require MASSIVE tanks.
The server room in my office is 12x12x20 and the tank required is 1ft in diameter and 4 feet tall.

Shortly after the name was leaked, it was said that the Feds knew who this guy was beforehand, although obviously knew nothing about how dangerous he actually was. Has anyone heard any more about why and what they knew about him before the massacre? What that just rumor and not true at all? I haven't seen anything else about that.

I think it was Fox News who initially said that Paddock had been known to local authorities, despite not having a criminal record. But that was never really substantiated.

They might have a list of people who have bought 30 rifles.

I think it was something about financial transactions from the casinos

He previously sued the Cosmo for "slipping in a puddle".

Mandalay Bay shooter Stephen Paddock may have been a high-roller, but he lost a slip-and-fall lawsuit against a Nevada casino in 2014 — and still owed $270 in court fees when he killed at least 59 people Sunday, including himself.
Security video from the Cosmopolitan Hotel shows Paddock slipping and falling on Oct. 30, 2011, as he walked from a hotel shop towards a high-stakes area in the casino. Paddock said he had slipped in a puddle of liquid and sued the hotel in 2012, initially asking for $100,000, according to the attorney for the hotel, Marty Kravitz.
"They always ask for a lot more than they can get, but he got nothing," said Kravitz.
Kravitz met Paddock when he testified in a deposition for the lawsuit. Paddock enjoyed a special high-roller status with perks at at least one Vegas casino, but Kravitz described the man he met as "unkempt," "slovenly and careless" and "bizarre."
When Paddock fell at the hotel, said Kravitz, he "was wearing crappy flip-flops with a beverage in a bag in his hand."
"You wonder what a guy like this is doing at the Cosmo."
Kravitz also said, however, that there was "nothing about Paddock that would ever indicate someone who was unstable."
"This is not a guy that I would have looked at and thought, 'He's going to commit a crime one day.'"

SIAP: Paddock’s girlfriend has arrived at LAX, is met by FBI.

Federal authorities met the Las Vegas killer’s girlfriend at Los Angeles International Airport late Tuesday and said they will take a harder look at what she might have known leading up to the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history.

I maintain the stance of no way she didn't know what he was doing.

She for sure knew something. Maybe not exactly what he planned on doing

It depends on how much time they actually spent together. A 60+ couple doesn't necessarily act like a 20-something couple. Do they even live in the same city? I'm certainly not saying she didn't know anything, I just think those of you saying she had to are assuming a typical "boyfriend/girlfriend" relationship that may not exist.

quote:All of this is tripping me up as well. If she was involved then the only explanation I can think of is that there was nothing voluntary about her flight home. That might also explain the very spotty reporting about her whereabouts in the last 36 hours. But who knows. If she was involved then it seems she had no plan. Maybe there was a larger plan that was foiled and that’s why her actions make little sense.
Also, she flew back today. If she's guilty of something or an ISIS agent, why voluntarily fly back to the custody of the FBI?

Is it even a relationship if they don't even live in the same city?
For goodness sake, they are in their 60s. What possible reasons could they have for living in different cities and dating?
And didn't they say early on that both lived in a retirement community together? Or was that one of those typical "I want to be the first to break the story" media walkbacks?

There is literally a term called "long-distance relationship"

Too old and set in their ways to want a roommate? She wants his money without having to perform the requisite sexual duties a "girlfriend" normally would?

Well, he had 2 houses and they both traveled a good bit. How many nights were they actually spending together? Again, maybe they had a typical relationship and she certainly had to know. But maybe not. We'll see eventually.

Or maybe she just knew he was kind of weird and liked guns but that a lot of people are similar and don't do this

Per one of the brothers, they have only known about Marilou since spring of this year. Its not like they have been together for decades.
eta: looks like new info has come out that they may have known each other since 2015.
