I'm sure he was thinking rationally while simultaneously gunning down a mass of people across the street and fending off the authorities outside of his room.

Oh so he methodically planned and executed the many aspects of the entire operation but in that instance just got stupid or crazy and decided it better to shoot at the cops shins. Yeah that's it.

The critical thinking skills of some of you are sorely lacking.

those are 100 round surefire mags stacked by that column
appear to be 12 mags in that pic, no telling how many others they found

I was near a shoot out once. Initial shoots fired and it took a few few seconds to stop and listen. It took even longer to say hey thats gun shots. Took even longer to say oh shite that is gun shots. Wasn't until the ricochet zings came by that I decide it was time to get the hell out.
Pair that with the thought process that "it's the last song of the festival, those must be fireworks" that everyone reported thinking/hearing and you don't react for quite some time.

Because methodically planning over days or weeks is the same as carrying it out over the the course of a few minutes.

Wouldn't shooting chest level or head level also reveal his location?

The point there being that dead men tell no tales. So wounding the cop would reveal his position much faster than killing him.

I'm pretty sure it was a security guard that was shot in the leg. My guess is the security guard knocked on the door or something and caught him by surprise, even with a camera system set up if you were shooting 50-100 round bursts it would be easy for someone to sneak up on you.

As soon as he heard the knocking or whatever it was at the door he likely turned around and started shooting off hand. Likely shot before he started aiming, and one of his first shots hit the guard. Then the rest of the shots would have been fired more center mass ish but the guard was already on the ground out of the way.

Just my reasonable guess.

What the heck is that neon blue hose thing?

Also, there's one of the suitcases he used to sneak the weapons in.

Fox just reported Paddock worked for the IRS back in the 80’s and as a mailman in the 70’s. Feds have questioned a family member of Marilou Danley.

Wasn't the hammer in a different location in another picture?

I could be wrong. Or they could have moved it I guess.

it was a security guard and the guard did indeed knock on the door. which is well documented at this point, and the conspiracy theorists should at least try to read something besides tigerdroppings before creating these fantastical conspiracies in their minds and then voicing it.

Probably to his GF. As an accountant, I’m sure he knew the loopholes and benefits of wiring her money to the Philippines as opposed to willing it to her. Maybe he didn’t want to change his will for fear of drawing attention to himself? Idk. Add this to the list of oddities.

Being an accountant for a defense contractor may explain quite a bit about why his information is so difficult to find. It's likely he was a pretty shrewd guy with respect to his online presence and/or his assets.

I get what you're saying, but it looks like there are a lot of holes in the door. I would guess he shot at the door using the slidefire, and those are not the most accurate. He probably shot from across the room at the door and hit low then went back at it out the window.
