Mardi Gras Litter

To and from work I go thru Scott and the streets, sidewalks, ditches are still littered from this past weekend Mardi Gras activities.
With the rain we’re experiencing who knows where a lot of it will go before the town picks it up (assuming they will)?
shite is embarrassing and literally trashy.

It’s terrible every year.

Got off a plane at Armstrong one evening after most had left to go back home and the terminal was literally overflowing with trash everywhere. “Welcome to our beautiful city”

Well, what is the excuse for the rest of the year in the shitty backwoods parts of the state?
Many areas still consider it normal to dump furniture and appliances on the side of country roads.

Unfortunately, there is not really a good answer to that...if you want a parade, you have to figure out a way to clean up afterwards.

Last year, after Youngsville parade, there was a ton of crap left over on the streets after parade. I got up Sunday to go to Rouses, it was almost all gone. Gotta give props to the city on that one. Was like they had a vacuum running down chemin Metairie

You should see Algiers after NOMTOC. It looks like a garbage tornado hit.

After the parade, the people who drove a float through the parade either need to a) go out and pick up the trash afterwards or b) pay the city a fee to clean it up. Also option B should be expensive af to decrease the chances of needing government workers.

usually that stuff stays put until after Mardi Gras

It ain't just Louisiana. People will dump appliances and garbage on the side of the road a mile from a dump in north Mississippi

I found the problem.

That’s one thing NO does right. After four parades on Sunday, went to work early Monday morning, and St Charles didn’t even look like a parade passed it was so clean...

Yep. Mardi Gras celebrates littering to the extent that the mentality of someone else picking up one’s trash pervades the LA citizenry throughout the whole year. LA is the trashiest (lifter) state.
If you don’t believe me wait a few weeks after and make a conscious decision to pay attention to the trash along the roads, in parking lots, etc.

It's not just a "Mardi Gras" problem, it's a "trashy arse Louisiana residents don't give a shite" problem.

Got back from London, every employee looked like they didn't give a shite and all trash cans were overflowing. Welp, I'm back in Louisiana. fricking embarrassment.
