Mandeville on East approach has police in force looking for someone

Just drove up the East Approach and there were four MPD units along the approach on the shoulder facing the wrong direction like the drove up in a hurry with officers looking in wooded area backing up to New Golden Shores by light at Florida st. as I passed a Sheriff and two Troopers were pulling up.
Anyone live in the New Golden Shores know whats up?

On Nextdoor app some people in New Golden Shores said they are ordered to stay inside. One woman said she went to mailbox and cop "yelled get inside now"!

And he did get into a house in New Golden Shores, but ran back out. It is pretty real out here tonight.
Did have a nice little pursuit the other evening (Friday, maybe). Business is picking up. Good thing they shot down the Car Wash. Imagine would that would bring. /s

So far from the pieces it sounds like person was pursued across the causeway and ditched car at the shell and took off on foot, some house breakin attempt and carjack attempt. Hopefully he gets a frontal chest ventilation soon.

They need to put a toll booth on the Metairie side of the Causeway too. I’d gladly pay $10 to visit Nola. Although these days, you’d have to pay me to visit.
