Similar to how they told black men in the50's not to be looking at the white women? While what you say may be true, it doesn't make it right and the more you repeat it the more we start to rationalize it.
And the guy ended up dead. But he was right.
Good for him he gets a prize.

Best thread title of the day

If you cover for "bad cops" you're a bad cop.

At 47 seconds the reporter says "when deputies AXE could they come inside"!

I want to tell you a story. I'm going to ask you all to close your eyes while I tell you the story. This is a story about a black man that lives in a trailer park. I want you to picture this black man answering the door and greeting white cops. Suddenly, these white cops began beating the black man, tazing him, and finally shoot him dead.
Can you see him? I want you to picture that man. Now imagine that you are the media.

Are you fricking retarded. If a cop is beating you for no reason you're not supposed to defend yourself?
You are not going to win dummy. We will read your obituary in the paper.

Sucks for him and I agree, fighting with cops = bad. But for us who have the luxury of commenting from the grandstands I think we should call out brutality when it exists.

As a white male, middle-aged Republican, anyone that thinks cops don't abuse their powers, especially when minorities or poor people are involved, are naïve.

I did. As the story was told the cops were wrong and should face charges.
But the guy is still dead. That's my point. He played a stupid game with stupid people and won a stupid prize. He followed your advice, fought and lost. Good job.

I never offered him advice so I don't know what you're talking about. My suggestion was for us on the sidelines to quit pointing out the obvious that if you struggle with a cop they might shoot you. I guess pointing out the obvious and repeating tired memes is all you are capable of though.

Huh? I don't think anyone here will try to justify this. If he was causing trouble in public there might be a wait and see attitude but the minute they kicked in his door without a warrant means this is flat out murder.

I expect this to go like a typical cop thread though.
There is a pretty constant underlying theme here.

Sad situation, but that news report is hilarious. First of all, the reporter can barely speak correectly. And the line "Witnesses say Livingston was not fighting back and was trying to get the taser out of the deputy's hands" is awesome.

Yeah, maybe.
You are always taught "cops are good" or "call the cops if you get lost", etc.
You may very well have little to no interaction with LEO's beyond maybe a speeding ticket or whatever.
You get some life experience and you find out everyone doesn't have the same background with law enforcement and it isn't always b/c they are "bad people".

my favorite part of that whole clip was the reporter making sure we knew he built that porch so we could all have a good time
Posted on 11/16/15 at 2:32 pm to FourthQuarter
Three things I noticed:
1. Wtf jacket was the reporter wearing? Lol.
2. Even black tv reporters say "axe" instead of "ask."
3. Lol at the jump cut and that trailer trash dude lying face down on the porch next to blood stain.
This was a solid vid all around. Well done.
