In theory this would mean that my staple items like coffee would cost 32 dollars and frozen pizza 24 dollars.

Anecdotal for sure, but I do our budget, and $250 every 2 weeks was about what we'd spend on groceries pre-Covid. That's not counting little trips to the store for 3 things, but just our main grocery bill. That's around $340 now for a family of 3.

I can think of a few things that seem like they've nearly doubled, but yeah most things aren't up nearly that much.
We'd be paying $15-20 for milk or cheese if this was accurate.

The grab and go rotisserie chicken at the local grocery store is still $6.99 and has been for decades now.

The one at Costco is solid and I think it's a little less than that. I get one at Fresh Market pretty often too. It's an easy dinner that isn't terrible for you.

Look at the single dude.
He orders all the processed shite that has gone up that much. Thus guy is not buying bananas, he's buying Cheerios, Doritos, etc
Thst stuff is up times 3.

I'll tell you what's not fake, is that I got a croissant and an 8 oz coffee this morning at a coffee shop and it was $23. I asked her about it and she said their prices had gone up. Done with that place.

Just reordered my first order from July 2021. It was ~ $120 after subtracting all the discontinued items. $156.80 today. About 30% higher- crazy.

I've noticed considerably higher prices with a lot of packaging shrinking. The primary thing that jumps out to me is shorter expiration dates and poor quality fresh produce. Beef quality in the market where I shop has gone to hell.

Gallon of distilled water circa 2019 = 84 cents
Gallon of distilled water circa 2024 = $1.39

Definitely over exaggerated at +300%
I now for milk a gallon of the Kleinpeter was about $4.49 in 2021, it's now $6.99.
A dozen eggs was %1.59 a dozen in 2021, it's now $3.39.
Add in the 30% or more on meats and it is definitely exponentially more expensive than it was 3 years ago. I used to go make groceries with a hand basket and could assume with essentials I would be at $30-45. Today I am $50-70 with like items.

Inflation sucks, and it’s out of control.. but it’s also a worldwide problem, it’s GLOBAL… how does whoever is sitting in the Oval Office change that for our country, while the rest of the world still feels it ? I’m genuinely curious what the answer is .

Then you changed your spending habits.

shite I think I spend close to that for just two of us. We don’t cook too much right now so a lot of pre made meals or if we do cook it’s the meals you just put in the oven that HEB has.
