shite I think I spend close to that for just two of us. We don’t cook to much right now so a lot of pre made meals or if we do cook it’s the meals you just put in the oven that HEB has.

We've been doing less cooking because we throw too much of it away. Our youngest is 17, has a car and a job, so 90% of the time it's just me and my wife these days. It just doesn't make a lot of sense to cook a big meal most of the time now.

I did. I regularly got a pastry and coffee there and it couldn't have been more than 10 bucks. They canceled said pastry during covid so I quit going until I saw it today.

Walmart has gone up more than other places, IMO. Purely anecdotal but I just saw an item that is usually around $4 - at a place like Publix it's like $4.25 and at Walmart $3.50, and now the Walmart price is just a few pennies from the Publix price. So whatever inflation effect is seen at Publix, Walmart has far surpassed that rate. Walmart and Amazon have made an absolute killing since COVID and Biden came around.

When is Walmart ever going back to 24hr operations? For some reason that really irritates me.

I pay close attention to prices.

Noticed that Wal-Mart has dropped the prices on some items I regular buy.

So let's analyze this one more time. You walk in and order

I'll tell you what's not fake, is that I got a croissant and an 8 oz coffee this morning at a coffee shop and it was $23

You plainly see this posted, I'm sure (menu picture from Yelp, 4 months ago). 8 Oz coffee, and croissant. $23.00.

Correct?

I use Walmart online for groceries and this may be real but not for the reason he’s making it out to be. Sometimes there will be insane prices for something random. Not sure why maybe they don’t make that size anymore or something but they will still ship it to you. A normal person would choose an alternative that is appropriately priced. His reorder probably includes several of these items

I track my grocery spending pretty close and our cost for our family of 6 have almost doubled in the last 2-3 years. Not quite double but close also it depends on what you are buying too as some items have increased more than others.

Anecdotal for sure, but I do our budget, and $250 every 2 weeks was about what we'd spend on groceries pre-Covid. That's not counting little trips to the store for 3 things, but just our main grocery bill. That's around $340 now for a family of 3.

Yes but some items have gone up higher than others and even though I may buy similar stuff, it’s not the exact same.

Whether you believe this is true or not, he reordered the same order. You’d have to show us you are buying the exact same stuff down to the toilet paper. And that you purchase those same items every single trip.

I know I’m sure as frick not.

Got to buy the clover valley tuna now.

Oh, one more thing... you said it all wasn't more than $10 out the door at one point?

No, I said it couldn't have been( if it was more it wasn’t noticebly more) but I said this was pre covid. I don’t mind paying 8-12 bucks.
Also as I said on an earlier post that she said prices had gone up which implies recently. Even if out dated, look at the fricking prices on that menu. I would have skipped it on those alone.

I could post menu prices for that shop in just about any year you want. In fact, the 2 I did prove a giant price hike from 2021 to present HASN'T occurred. Know when the largest price increase did there? And during their administration? Go ahead, ask...

But you're sticking w the lie you paid $23.00 this morning?

There's no way food costs have gone up 4x, although I think they've been higher than overall inflation. I'd say maybe 33% in the past 4 years. I'd definitely notice if our grocery bill went from $250 to 1k

Yea it’s likely largely that an item or two had a weird algorithmic spike in the Walmart online system (we have all seen a $10 item inexplicably show for like $50 at various places online before)

Maybe his 120 is like 200 and a few things are no longer standard inventory for that vendor and throw wild prices now
