It honestly is so clear it should be used as the video for self defense on wiki

No idea the SD laws in Indiana
But I imagine in most sane places he could have legally used deadly force while he was approaching with the gun regardless of banging on the window, bringing his hand up, etc.
Pretty sure approaching someone's vehicle like that without a weapon is considered assault in LA.

But it was completely out of the view of the driver (happened below the waist) AND the hand he raised was the one the gun was in when he banged on the door.
Correct, no way for the shooter to know and was 100% ok to shoot him.
He shoudl have actually shot him the moment he started approaching his truck with a gun in his hand, and the dumbass should have been dead before he had an opportunity to bang on the window.
You get out of your car with a gun in your hand hollering at someone and walking towards them, they should shoot you asap.

This makes me question “a jury of my peers”…

If you aggressively approach me, bang a gun on my car, then abruptly throw up the hand the gun was just in and direct it towards my face I’m shooting your pretty much every time. If my family is in the car you are probably getting shot as you step out the car with a gun.

If you let him point the gun first you are dead

Absolute textbook FAFO. The dead guys estate should have to reimburse the shooter for the spent ammo.

I'll be curious to see if that's ruled self defense or not. The guy was armed but he wasn't pointing at them when they shot him. I honestly don't know.
If he wasn't planning on using the weapon he shouldn't have drawn it. Looks like it's clear self defense to me.

I do feel for his wife though.

He already shown the firearm in his right hand, then he hits the truck with the firearm in his right hand he transfers the firearm to his left hand, but he does it out of sight of the person in the truck, then he quickly raises his right hand up into the person’s face that is sitting in the truck.
That person has no idea that the firearm got transferred from one hand to the other he sees is the arm and the hand that had the firearm quickly raising up towards his face
I would’ve fired into his face as well at that moment, I think anybody who would want to preserve their own life would’ve done the same

People are so fkn dumb. How anyone would get angry enough to approach a stranger with a gun, for something so trivial and pointless when they could/should just walk/drive away, is beyond me.

I would've fired the second he walked up to me with a gun in an aggressive manner. I'm not waiting to find out what they're going to do
Posted on 7/18/24 at 2:48 pm to jeffsdad
Walking up to a stranger's vehicle in a fit of rage, with a gun in hand, is a great way to get justifiably shot.

Plain as day.
As soon as he gets out of the car and starts approaching me, I'd plan on shooting him dead.
Anyone with a lick of sense would do the same.

She dodged a bullet, yes. Her husband, not so much.
