I hope no one ever comes at you with a gun in hand like the aggressor in the video because you will die trying to figure out if you should defend yourself or not

Self defense won’t cover that imo.
Why won’t it? The guy approached the other persons truck with a pistol. How the hell is the person in the truck supposed to know his intentions? Are they supposed to wait until the guy points and shoots at him? Not to mention he punched their truck and was acting irrationally.

This literally has NOTHING to do with the story. These journalist, man.

This cat got out of his car and approached the truck with gun in hand. Classic case of FAFO.

On what planet? The guy blocked his car, approached with a pistol, hit the truck with it, and then pointed it inside the vehicle

The guy was armed but he wasn't pointing at them when they shot him. I honestly don't know.
My argument would be that he brandished since it wasn't in its holster and he banged on the truck window with it in hand. I'm pretty sure in most states that's considered a threatening gesture with a firearm.

Guy blocks in the driver and comes at his window brandishing a pistol. Then raises his hand toward the window (he had switched the pistol to his left hand). Fairly reasonable to think the driver of the truck thought he was raising the weapon toward his open window and feared for his life.

Some of you are ridiculous. The guy raised his arm into the window before the driver shot him.

Blocking the truck and walking up to the truck with a gun in hand and then punching the truck and screaming at the person, pretty easy self defense.
Don't pull a gun if you don't want a gun fight.

without the gun, not self defense
with it, absolutely
with it, absolutely

I may watch later, but is there any indication in video on what they were even arguing about?

Even if there had been no car in front of him, that’s clear self defense. All doubts removed when the aggressor raised the gat and pointed it at the driver.
I’m amazed by the stupidity of people that pull out guns thinking they’re tough, trying to intimidate people with them. Shocking they never assume the other party has one too.

I didn't notice that he hit the truck with the gun, I thought it was his fist. It may well be self defense. No need to worked up over it bud

How bad can it be to get so pissed while driving? You bring a gun and bang on another guy's window like that, you have to expect something bad will happen. Just can't keep calm and let dumb things go.

No. Video starts with aggressor approaching his executioners vehicle.

Well, he switched the gun to his left and made a move with his empty right. But no way the driver knew that instantly.

No idea the SD laws in Indiana
But I imagine in most sane places he could have legally used deadly force while he was approaching with the gun regardless of banging on the window, bringing his hand up, etc.

Everyone better stop and think now a days before they rage at anyone. If ole boy came after me with a gun he’s getting popped.

So for shits and giggles, here's Indiana's self-defense law (the incident happened in Indy):
2023 Indiana Code - IC 35-41-3-2
ETA: I think you could pretty easily argue that it's self-defense based on that statute/code.
quote:
(d) A person:
(1) is justified in using reasonable force, including deadly force, against any other person; and
(2) does not have a duty to retreat;
if the person reasonably believes that the force is necessary to prevent or terminate the other person's unlawful entry of or attack on the person's dwelling, curtilage, or occupied motor vehicle.
