Yesterday, I noticed a lug nut missing from one of my truck tires. I thought that was weird, but when I walked around the truck I noticed two other lug nuts missing from two other tires.

Been driving since the 70s, and have never lost one lug nut, much less three - all vac the same time.

Who the hell steals lug nuts?!?

It's not like I have some high dollar, after-market tricked out truck. It's a 2011 Dodge Dakota, for crying out loud. Nothing special about it or the lug nuts.

I hate a thief.

Rant over.

It takes balls to steal another man's nuts.

You have lug locks on your wheels? Seems like an amateur did that.

I despise thieves.

Had a bunch of very important, especially sentimental, stuff stolen from us (here at our farm house property) while we were living in Hawaii.

Caught the thief, tried and convicted and sentenced to prison. He had anlong rap sheet (his name is William Otis Mitchum). He stole all my medals and military memorabilia from my time served at Bragg and overseas. Stole all my hunting clothes. Stoles valuable pictures and paintings and prints. He made multiple trips. It was all being stored in a guest house here on the property.

Judge threw the book at him but he was still released early.

There's more to the story since.

One of the clues that helped us catch him was all of my hunting clothes and boots he stole ... I'm 6'3" and wear a size 16 shoe. He ended-up being 6'5" and he wears a size 15 shoe. I gotta give it to the detective for that.

That and a lot of other things.

Never recovered anything ... he claimed he was on crack and couldn't remember where he sold it all and that some of it burned-up in a fire.

Heart breaking.

IMHO the Muslims have it right. Thieves get caught three times stealing, lop a hand off. Four times, lop the other hand off. Five times ... take the nugget.

I stole a beauty ring once off of a friend's 1987 Chevy Silverado. The shame was too much when I saw he got a new one and it didn't match because it was too shiny and new, so I stole the other three.

Me too.

I have a little john boat and trailer that had a 9.5 hp Johnson on the back. I no longer used it so I parked in the barn at my dad's until my son got old enough and could take it to college to use. My dad passed away a couple years ago and the day of his funeral we were at his house I looked out in the barn and some low-life had stolen the motor off of it.

My dad and stepmom always have trashy people do stuff around their property and I figure one of those scumbags took it but have no proof.

That sounds more like someone fricking with you than someone with the actual intention of stealing a lug nut unless all the rest of them were too tight to break.

I do have to say I would be fricked if someone took 3 of my lugnuts since I only have 4 total.

Spline lug nuts. Thief is less likely to carry the special tool needed to remove them.

I was driving on i12 one afternoon from Drusilla to O’Neal. Started hearing a thump, thump, thump. Got off the exit and it would get louder when I turned. Got in my apt complex, pulled over, looked all under the car. Nothing. Thump, thump…Parked & looked some more. Finally noticed I was riding on just the lock nut. They had taken off the other 4 and couldn’t get that one. I was going 80 on the freaking interstate on 1 lug
