Well whoever it was circled that he wasn't connected, so seems like someone should have mentioned it

Guy missed a real opportunity on the video naming. Should have simply been "Swisshap"

In all honesty, if I'm that guy I probably take my chances right at the start when it's only 10 feet off the ground.

On GMA they said this guys bicep tore because he was holding on so long and so hard.

That is some survival strength and pain tolerance right there. Human will can do some crazy shite to live.

Maybe I’m missing something here, but why didn’t the pilot clip his ring to the hand bar once he realized he wasn’t hooked in?

I'm guessing he had to keep piloting the thing or they both would have died

I'm not sure how fast it was climbing, but by the time you think through your options and decide that is the best option, you may not be at 10' anymore.

It looked like by the time they realized what was happening they were already a good bit above the roof of a house/structure

Looks like he tried around 1:15 but had to quickly reach back to the bar to maintain control.

Holy shite:

I know the pilot is also holding onto him, but to support your own body weight for that length of time in that intense of a situation is incredible, especially with only one hand at one point. That is nuts.

Good for the guy for having a good sense of humor about it after the fact, but like someone said, that pilot is simply inexcusable for letting that happen. It's literally the one thing you should check and quadruple check for prior to takeoff.

Glad it turned out well though. I about lost it at the end when he says he wants to go gliding again because he "didn't enjoy his first time."

I kept waiting for him to grab the pilots straps and wrap his arm around them with his left arm.

I was thinking ah this will be short and sweet, then he crests that hill top and you realize the dude is F’d because they are now a long way from the village below. Wow.

Yeah I don’t know why when his harness didn’t catch he didn’t let go immediately? I also don’t know why the hell the guy didn’t double check he was locked in? I mean I’m not just assuming the pilot hooked me up...

Am I crazy to think he should’ve pulled himself up and put the bar under an armpit? Maybe even get a leg over the bar?

I understand that might not be easy but seems easier than hanging on by one hand.

That's nothing. McLoud did the same thing over New York for 20 minutes hanging from a helicopter.
