How did he not get killed?
Shows just how stupid and inadequate police training is. They have to shoot a minimum of only 60 rounds each year to qualify, and the POST certification is a joke. I've never not shot a perfect score on it, and they only need like 70% to qualify. The average cop can't shoot for shite. Still, crazy that he smoked em after being flashbanged. What a boss
I'm so glad stout linked this. A coworker and I always debated what would happen in this situation. This guy is lucky he didn't kill one of the cops, guarantee the backup baws would've blown him away out of vengeance and so he couldn't defend himself. If this happened to me, I'd call police after, give info and explain situation, then lay down in front yard face first

Yeah the system worked except the part about spending two years in jail for nothing.

How was this guy not gunned down by the rest of the officers?

Absolutely the right call. I wish they would stop this SWAT nonsense for situations that don't call for a SWAT team.

Break into my home without announcing yourself and there's a chance you may be killed, that's pretty simple.

Good 4am no-knock raids are total bullshite.

Bond for attempted murder is usually high six figures.
Let's say it was $200k
He would need $25k to bail out. that's a lot for many people to just come up with. Also Bail money you just lose.
A surety bond is the best, you just lose your house or property if you skip court. Likely they set a bond he had no chance of making.

I have no experience with the intricacies of no-knock entries, my guess is that the cops who do them are pretty concerned about what they'll run into but are doing their jobs anyway.
I understand speed and surprise might be required to prevent a bad situation, but make sure the target is actually there before deciding on extreme measures. The assault team had time to plan their actions, the defendant did not. It's for the safety of everyone, as the three wounded officers can probably attest.
Given those circumstances I'd have had a hard time voting for a conviction based on what's been presented here.

A lot of Trump voters not liking a making American great again moment. Let a dope dealer live with you, sell from your house, and when the Police finally take action you shoot at them.
I can't possibly believe that 3 cops got shot before this man said oh.... holy crap.... it's the Police my bad....
Come on baws

You're trying way too hard.

Trying to hard you say? Effortless......

Good he needs to sue also. Also, You can bet that if a no knock warrant was inadvertently served on a cop and the cop shot the other cops, the shooter would never have been charged .

The system cost him years of his life and countless dollars. I wouldn't say it worked.

Jesus christ, just read the rest of the thread. I clearly didn't mean that part of the system worked, I was speaking in terms of the jury trial working and saving him from any more hell.
Also, thanks for being the 20th person to the punch.

If he was using buck shot, justice would have been served.
