Good, these no knock warrants over suspected drugs have gotten many citizens and police officers killed, its ridiculous that law enforcement officers are losing their lives trying to enforce non violent crimes.

Now that case precedence has been set, I hope law enforcement thinks hard before executing a No-Knock in the future.

The problem with this is it does not provide a learning moment for the bad actors, they don't give two shits about the taxpayers forking over the cash to pay for their frickups, start taking the money out of their retirement accounts and this nonsense will end overnight.

there is no way that this DA or the officers should be able to walk away from this scot free.

Why do you feel bad for the cops?

they're operating within a broken system that puts them in unnecessary danger

the court system has created far too many perverse incentives for super-aggro behavior that will lead to mistakes and bad results, like the story in the OP. the cops, sadly, often don't even know any better b/c it's how they're taught

Well, they did get shot.

And this was not there fault, I wouldn't think. Somebody higher up had to at least authorize this if not straight up order it.

Why in the hell was this even brought to trial?

The attempted 1st degree murder charge was dropped right before trial. My guess is they were threatening life in prison for 2 years all the way up to trial in order to get a plea on a lesser charge. If he pleads guilty to anything, then the actions of law enforcement are swept under the rug.

Should be on the judge that signed the warrant.

So after two years list and God knows how much money wasted on lawyers, he got his freedom back. The system works?

Yep, that is the despicable part and the reason all involved need to be hammered with the fist of God.

They were basically holding him hostage to cover their tracks.

Yay law and order

No knock warrants are bullshite as far as I'm concerned. The fact that they are being used in pursuit of non-violent offenders as opposed to being reserved for rare and extremely dangerous suspects is outrageous.

IMO, the cop that requested the no knock warrant and the judge that signed it should personally be held accountable.

Hope he sues Corpus Christi out the arse and gets compensated for the two years he spent cooling his heels in jail. I support our police but this was clearly a case of abuse of power.

Yep. Rosas is brave, that's for sure. Since the "justice" system likes to punish people hard if you don't take the plea as they have to spend money and resources on a trial, shouldn't the over-aggressive douchebag cop who requested the warrant, the judge that signed the warrant, and the prosecutor faces punishment? These POS cannot continue to walk away with no accountability.
