I don't go to the mall much at all. Maybe 3 times a year, but I don't think it has gone to shite. That's a bit of an exaggeration.
Malls in general are not as popular as they once were.. You know.. before people were about to shop online, but I have never been in there and thought "this place isn't what it used to be".
It seems like they are adapting. A Main Event has opened in the outside part. Adding an aquarium would be pretty cool. It seems like they are adding entertainment to being people in.

Gameware is probably relocating to one of the many empty spaces at a lower lease rate.

I'm not sure about Austin's mall. They do have a far larger and more affluent population than Baton Rouge. I've only been in the Mall of LA a few times in the past few years. I have noticed that the quality of stores has declined quite a bit.
