Aside from several mentioned, wife and I use old trivia pursuit cards.

Used to use trivia pursuit cards driving to lsu away games in college. Before podcasts and when we got tired of the same CDs.

Yes! I discovered the sunflower seeds trick a little too late, but you cannot fall asleep while doing that. It works.

Repeat game: pick objects you see and add them too a list

First person:blue
Second person: blue potato
FP: blue potato sign
SP: blue potato sign pole
FP: blue potato sign pole fence

And so on. As long as two people are semi intelligent, you can get to a few hundred items.

The combination of audio and repetition means yo I can memorize a lot of words very quickly.

Listen to the Sloppy Boys podcast, it’s three comedians and they review cocktails. Really funny and you also learn about the history of the cocktails they’re talking about.

They have an episode about the Flaming Dr. Pepper, which I learned was invented in New Orleans.

“Porky Piggy-ing” it!!!

If you don’t know what that is, it’s where you have a shirt on, so everything looks normal at window level, but you are naked below the window level.
