Mid range budget Zeiss diavari z. 30mm tube and you can find one used less than $1k
High School: 43 minutes at Winn Dixie. Said I could start on Monday but called on Sat and wanted me there by 10am so I reluctantly showed up. I was supposed to be pushing carts and cleaning up but they put me in the freezer shuffling inventory. No jacket. Just told me I should bring one next time. Walked out and got a check in the mail the following week for less than $2.

Real life: about 2 hours at a convivence store in a bad area of town. It was all I could find and I was desperate for work. Got a few minutes on how to run register etc. and the manager left the store for a break or something. The second "customer" to enter after the manager left, stuck a gun in my face and demanded money and some cigarettes. I gave him what was in the register and he told me to lay on the floor then fired a shot into the liquor on the wall above me. Called cops and manager but he didn't answer. Cops showed up, took my statement and I left them with the manager's phone number.
2012 Tacoma. July, unless we get a hurricane and February, after hunting season. If the beer is cold, she even gets a vacuum in Feb.

"Slick Clam" was the name of my skiff when I was in college.

"Littoral Stimulation" was one I couldn't convince the wife to go with.

I'm looking for the handful of hot teachers that I had in my jr. high and high school days...
My neighbors are currently on the Ohio River near Paducah having left North Carolina in July.

We traveled with them from NC up to Baltimore but we're not retired so had to go back to work. Its definitely a bucket list item for us.

I check their progress regularly on Marine Traffic. MoWhisky is the vessel name.
Cooking... well, specifically smoking meats. Brisket, pork, ribs and more.

I also bought a mini excavator w a forestry mulcher to "save money" clearing the back property. I've found a certain peace in doing that work to the point I enjoy hiring out a few days each month.
The only problem is most companies or co-ops sell to you at retail and credit you at wholesale prices. For a second home with minimal use, it's a wash at best factoring in the tax credits.

Also, be aware of service. In cenla, and western NC, there are few techs to fix things. My last episode was 16 months trying different parts and now I have a solar array on my roof that does nothing because it's at the end of it's useful life.

I bought a pipe steel handle reamer and plug punch combo at my local co-op. Don't have to sweat running anything through my hand but honestly I keep a cordless drill and bit set in the toolbox and that gets used 100% of the time

re: Hunting LLC shares for sale?

If you like living in a high end neighborhood with a HOA and all the drama that ensues you may be okay. It really depends on the club but in my experience, the larger the buy in, the larger the egos and drama.

I believe the Diamond Island share referenced above has a $1500 every 3 months fee for maintenance on top of the buy in. I leased a share at an equity club in Arkansas until they had a $12k/ member assessment for a new ferry and landing. I'd ask for an accounting of all assessments over the past decade to get a feel for what you might face.

This is the truth. I grew up in the WNC mountains. I saw a few bears here and there as a kid. But when I worked on the coastal plain of NC, 25+ years ago, I saw some monsters near the big corn fields in Carteret County, NC. Way more bears down east than in the high country.

You wouldn't be talking about Open Grounds Farms would you? I live in Carteret co and deer and bear hunt OGF. Several big bear there but most of our jumbo (500# plus) come from Hoffman Forest in Jones/Onslow or the pacossin swamps in Hyde or Dare. I'll post some of last year's bear kills if I can figure out how

JR high, sorting out pubes and a rising groin
Boats and Harbors has a decent selection sometimes.

You can also call around to the local CAT, Cummins etc marine dealers and ask them to put you on a list when they do repower. We were able to buy a set of C-18s direct from the previous owner after he decided to repower to C-32s. Dealer gave the owner my number and we worked a deal. Dealership got the new sale, new install, old removal/install so everyone was happy.
If you're having a boating accident, you've to be a little closer to the water ??
He was running charters out of the place near the old bridge in Leeville back in the late 80s. He towed us back to the ramp once when we ko'd the lower unit on a piling. Great fisherman but he was quirky for sure
