No stat I've ever read, and I love stats, has ever shown this county as having 41% African Americans.
It literally does not make sense if you just look at the history and the laws in this country along with crime rate and average life expectancy by race.
If people cannot connect all these dots and say that 41% is absurd then there are a lot of uneducated people floating around.
** I guess most people do that Chinese population math.
We have to remember, abortion was at one point legal. I could be mistaken, but if I remember correctly African Americans were having the most abortions per captia throughout that time period.

Look at the ratios on TV, which has a huge influence on perception. This doesn't surprise me at all.

The issue is that people define these terms differently, or don’t know how to define them at all. But more relevant to people’s beliefs, in polling asking whether people are “religious, spiritual, or neither”, your neither/nones hover around 25% of the US population, heavily skewing higher among the young.

I think the media misrepresentation is part of it. The other factor is that a ton of people are just plain stupid and have zero grasp in percentages.
