Have you seen an active map of areas that have been torched so far?

I saw the NWS projection, but don't know where to look for a current map.

Most likely, the pressure dropped with all the fire trucks utilizing the system.

Also, this thread is full of people who have zero idea about managing forests or how prescribed burns work. The approval process takes far too long yes, but also it wouldnt have fricking saved Cali here.

That, and all the line damage from destroyed homes and open lines.

ETA: And just the sheer volume of water being pulled in such a short amount of time.

I was ridiculed yesterday religiously over my stance on that state and the damage it’s done to this country. Now we are looking at the government stepping in, pissing in the face of all the folks in NC, to clean up the disaster on the West coast.

I agree this is good for the folks of California who were affected. Glad they were helped when they needed it.

Hunter Biden has a house in Malibu not in North Carolina.

This is going to be a weird case in recovery given the high levels of wealth in the areas affected.

I was thinking similar. If the fedgov jumps in and helps people rebuild, are they going to help them to rebuild a 2-5million dollar house? That doesn't seem fair to people of other disaster areas. Imo, if you decide to build/buy a multi-million house, then most of that was your choice and your problem.

What an absolutely cluster frick! This is beyond malfeasance & incompetence now. The alert accidentally was sent out to 9 million people in LA causing more traffic gridlock and panic. The alert was supposed to be for only for one neighborhood

Nice! Icing on the cake.

People are mad now because they can clearly see beyond a shadow of any doubt that the leadership has failed them beyond comprehension.

Well almost everyone.

At the same time every politician in the state of California and 80% of the people whose homes are piles of ash right now think if they just pray hard enough to their god Climate Change that none of this would be happening.

Bull fricking shite. It’s extremely dry and the winds are insane, fires would still happen without a doubt. There’s 0% chance that control burns don’t help out here. How much? I have no idea. But if some of those areas were burned that needed to be, the fire is absolutely better controlled.

You would think you would have to try to mess up as many things in as perfect of an order as they have. The odds were low something could be this badly mismanaged if you think about it.

My background is in meteorology and engineering, and I have worked with the damn forest service helping to plan a prescribed burn.

But sure, you know more about this than I do.

Its political for you hacks.

Not really. Government and everything thing that comes with it can make things worse. When shite hits the fan it becomes a blame game between politicians and people on Social Media.
