I will say that we need to watch central and east Alabama where it hasn’t rained much today. The atmosphere may have some fuel left in those areas.

I'm watching MSY and it looks like planes are landing again. Inbound flight ground stop until 6:15pm with about 15 planes in the area trying to make it in.

From Hytop (KHTX) radar we are looking 6,000 feet above the ground right now.

Too bad all these trees are blocking my view as I am currently on top of the impact crater ridge somewhere around 400 feet up

Zero current warnings in the high risk area but several in TN and N Alabama in the moderate and enhanced areas

I wouldn't rest on it just yet, there's still new cells firing off over New Orleans/SE Louisiana that have to make the march east- northeastward throughout the night. That's not to mention what's currently on the radar, even though it seems like the current threat is north and west of ATL

Buckhead/sandy springs

The reality is that our dense hardwood tree canopy makes pretty much anything with wind a potential issue, but I’m assuming a lot of the higher end threat to us is hypothetically big discrete cells churning over the border and staying together into our area.

I'm in Griffin/Williamson.

Same here. But it's a lot better than our previous place that was nothing but pines. frick those things in storms.

This is a correct assumption.

I would hold off counting it out until you see what new cell development looks like later on when it's further east. Once the front reaches Mobile and the Panhandle, those cells are the ones that'll be hitting the ATL area as they travel NNE. Once you see the general threat those new supercells are packing I'd make your decision

Wind is still going in spurts here in Cobb but the concerning part is the temperature has climbed a good bit since getting back from dinner a little while ago.
