Everytime I pull into that deck on the Friday around lunchtime of a game weekend, that thing is nearly empty. Like bare.

Southern University’s population hit 7,846 this fall, up from 7,091 two years ago. BRCC has 9,684 enrollees this year, up from 7,742 last year.

This isn't anything new. BRCC has had higher enrollment than SU dating back to 2012. Check the graduation and retention rates for BRCC on those 9,684 students. It won't be anything to brag about.

Texas. A&M is now the largest college/university in the US.

The figures that A&M put out concerning enrollment also include their satellite campuses.

Not sure what LSU’s includes.

Why just BRCC? Why not look at SUs as well? I imagine the rates for southern will be just as bad, if not worse.

and local businesses must focus on keeping those students in town after they graduate to solve the region’s workforce needs, according to an economic report from the Baton Rouge Area Chamber.

Workforce needs? What would those be? Is Baton Rouge begging for white collar college graduates?
And if you want to work on keeping them, you might ought to work on getting rid of the current Mayor and her step and fetchit POS police Chief. There’s nothing- not even family at this point- that would make a college graduate want to stay. This city and state are gaping, festering shitholes because of the lack of leadership.

LSU has done an incredible job at capitalizing on social media attention. Between the entire 2019 season & Livy Dunne, the brand has been everywhere.

The best thing for LSU going forward is to start buying up the land/homes at the North Gates.

Why is that?

You're OK with displacing poor minorities?

To expand into the downtown area. They already have the water campus & that area around it is pretty nice. Would love to see all that continue to expand but toward LSU

They are even making a fictional film about the LSU mascot. And they are making headlines for academic reasons, not just athletics.

But yeah they need to tear down tigerland and start over.
