Trash fricking culture man.

Hopefully Landry and Rousse can clean this shite up. But right now, I’d have a hard time sending a child of mine to school there.

I'm not paying for an Advocate article, but here's a story that was posted just a few days ago.

A great story by

highlighting why LSU is becoming more selective.
As our flagship university continues its upward trajectory, attracting and preparing the best and brightest students is essential to achieving our vision of becoming one of the nation's elite public research universities.
There is a place for everyone in the LSU family, but our flagship MUST set the standard for excellence.

After nearly a decade of growing enrollment, LSU gets more selective. Here’s why. bit.ly/4fGoURa
The change comes amid concerns about limited housing and parking, and university leaders push for a more selective flagship campus.

I’m truly counting on Jeff Landry to really help with this epidemic at the flagship institution of the state.

Higher admission requirements dear lord please.

Give us out of state Yankees. Anything but this.

Standards matter. Culture matters. Serious education requires serious students.

It will be the exact same thing.

LSU has pushed hard to have a much higher black student population.

This.

I'm not the biggest Landry fan, but he has at least been willing to talk about this issue and at least address it at the leadership level. Hopefully it equates to more action. For the last several years it appears LSU has let in anyone with a pulse....off all races. Admitting people who probably shouldn't be admitted in the first place is the quickest way to send the best and brightest who might otherwise attend LSU elsewhere. The focus should be on quality, not quantity in trying to his some arbitrary benchmarks that have little to do with the quality of student and education provided

The knuckleheads in the video (including the girls) aren’t students

If anything, plan for admission to students only

Nah man you might be out of touch with LSU student body in 2026. It’s gotten very HBCU-ish

The whole point of state sponsored colleges was a place of education for common citizens, where you didn't have to be elite to go to college. Now every Tom Dick & Harry State U. is a Harvard wannabe.

Its already happened - they have reinstated the testing requirements and all. I would imagine that alone will clean up a lot.

I hope so because Alabama and Ole Miss have been rolling into Louisiana high schools giving out full ride to legacy kids like candy while LSU has basically said kick rocks you have TOPS. This is/was my biggest issue with LSU over the last 4-5 years. top high school kids have been moving out while LSU got twerking on the PMAC.

This. The TOPS program has turned to pure crap.

LSU has cut way back on in-state freshman scholarships. Their reasoning is that most drop outs are in freshman year, so much scholarship money is wasted.
