LSU Students Shaken / Armed Intruder Scare

Does the commotion and news articles around the "armed intruder" at LSU strike you as weird? LINK. According to them, students are "shaken" and alarmed.
Seems to me like a bunch of BS and more likely a snowflake wanted to make a statement. Why? Imagine what happened: A cop-looking person walked calmly through Coates hall with a holstered gun. Would this be enough to cause you to call 911 and cause a lockdown?

if anything it probably helps them learn a lot about their response times and learning what to improve upon etc.

The ones I know are probably up at Fred's, and the only shots they're worried about are Vegas bombs

smdh. Should LSU tell people, "if you see the gunman ask him to kill you quickly so you won't suffer as much."

Whoever called that 8n should be arrested. Period. Charge them with being a fricking idiot.

I loved the timeline of events breakdown on WAFB last night. Showing the minute by minute response of the police and university.
For a FALSE ALARM!

This just show how pathetic and oversaturated the "journalism" profession has become. They're scraping the bottom of the barrel just to find any moron willing to accept peanuts to be a "journalist".

I would imagine if you were in Coates Hall and that text came through you would be shaken at least a little bit. I know I would

In today's climate people are really on edge and you can't fault someone for calling it in if they are not 100% sure what the situation is..
What I have a problem with is the news stations running with the information based on nothing more than the fact LSU students and faculty received an alert. At that time, the only people who needs to know are people in that area. Students and faculty.
Creating panic doesn't help a situation. So news stations should wait and find out more information before sending out a broad alter. When people see "Possible shooter" "Possible Gunman" they think about the mass shootings and it creates unnecessary panic and does nothing to help the situation.
