Don't even have to miss any games you'd want to go to except during finals but durin. That time you can't even go if you lived on LSUs campus.
Many people would much rather go to law school in New Orleans than in Baton Rouge.

So you mean which school should you try to marry a guy from, LSU law or Tulane law, right?

LSU is going to a format where you can choose to do Civilian Law, Common Law or both concurrently. Tulane makes you choose.

LSU has a higher bar passage rate, and places more students into full time legal work than all but 10 schools in the country.

The way I see it, Tulane gives you almost the same options in-state and way more options out-of-state. I'd rather have more options than less.

Personally, I would choose Tulane. Better city, great school, good times.

Also at the game baseball game Tuesday, the Tulane talent was on par with the LSU talent. Only ugly girls go to Tulane is a myth.

When I visited Tulane years ago to check out the law school, the girls in the law school were fine.

My graduating class at LSU had some diamonds, but they were mostly dirt.

You can say I chose poorly.

Tulane makes you choose to do Louisiana OR common law. You can't do both so if you get three years down the civilian track and decide to go out of,state you're fricked.

The budget cuts aren't making LSU look great but the stats dont lie. Tulane is more exclusive for kids coming in, LSU has a better record of getting kids into jobs and passing the bar.

Civilian law training is overrated. I know common law trained lawyers who passed the LA Bar with relative ease.

Almost every jurisdiction has a code of some sort. It's not like you are completely lost if you come from Nebraska to learn Louisiana law. Definitions are different, sure, but that's hardly a back-breaker.

And, you don't get much easier than the LA Civil Code in terms of format.

Meant about the people being better at LSU

i assume this is sarcasm. i saw zero cutthroat behavior at Tulane. Also, I'm one of the very few students who attended both LSU Law and Tulane Law. LSU felt like a pressure cooker. Tulane was laid back and collegial.

My overall loyalty in the "rivalry" is to LSU generally, but there was just no comparing the law schools from a quality of life perspective. I also interviewed with Wall Street, Silicon Valley, and numerous big cities, with relative ease. I'm not saying that's impossible with an LSU degree, but it was effortless for me, as was getting a job.

The market has changed though. I'd ditch law school all together, honestly.

You're an idiot. Seriously..it speaks to the collective intelligence of the anti-New ORleans crowd here that between all 50+ of them on this board they can't muster up a reason to dislike New Orleans beyond 'shithole.' Their combined brain power can't summon up anything more than that juvenile description. "You can't go to New Orleans because 'shithole.'" "I don't like New Orleans because 'shithole.'" Seriously.

I don't think the OP is factoring in 'shithole' when she's deciding what law school will be better for her professional career. I'm sure the role of the Uptown upper-class will really impact her while she's a law student, as well.

There is some law school that is notorious for just being awful and cutthroat. Baylor maybe? Houston? It's some mediocre or decent school, not an ivy.

It goes to the culture of the law school. LSU has numbers supporting it as the best law school in the state but treats its students as if their law school is no better than Southern or Loyola.

I always hear stuff like this, and I just can't imagine how it's true. What do you mean by fricked? I practice in an area that was not even taught in law school. I think this is a myth.

Duck.

But on a serious note,

Tulane is almost universally known as one of the most laid back law schools in the nation. Further, the Tulane Law parties are out of control if you like blow and bad decisions. If you were greek at LSU and thought those kids went hard, wait till 3L at Tulane.

Facts are facts.

There's no demonstrable need for another lawyer.

We don't need anymore good lawyers--there's plenty of those.

And generating more lawyers altogether necessarily means more bad lawyers, and we certainly don't need more of those either.

So why do we need anymore lawyers?
