I have officially lost faith in humanity. All of those guys need their asses kicked.

Thank you. They ruined it. I don't care for a capella anyway, but they just don't capture the intensity of the song.

What in the actual frick are you talking about?

I stand by it. In other positions, you have control over your situation. In public education, you have none. The only control you have is the ability to throw you hands up and walk out.

Not having control of your situation is a very stressful thing. Now there are obvious exceptions, particularly positions where you put your life on the line. But some could say teachers do that as well with some of the crazy arse people they deal with.

Most teachers are women. Most women are self centered and love complaining.

This. But also the fact that teaching is probably the most stressful job out there. I taught for about 4 weeks and when I quit, suicide was on my mind.

Teachers are absolutely powerless to everyone, the administration, politicians, students, parents. They get blamed for everything and have to take it on the chin. I understand that there are some people who just want to educate our kids, but I don't know for the life of me how anyone puts up with all the bullshite.

I'm a financial advisor now and my job is 1000x less stressful than when I taught. Even if the market tanks, which I have no control over, I will still be less stressed than those 4 weeks I taught.

Jindal

Basically, he guts agencies that make money to fund the government (a money pit). Higher Education is one of the only areas that is NOT statutorily protected from cuts, as in they don't have a dedicated source of state funds.

Jindal has also tried to fill budget holes in the past with one time money. Well this year there is no more of that because he has exhausted all of it.

There's more, but that's the gist of it.

I was about to ask what the hell is a brake tag.

That is despicable what those guys did.
Also this was not at a fraternity function and had NOTHING to do with any fraternity. The vast majority of fraternities are extremely patriotic, why is the fact they are in fraternities relevant to this at all?

I'm going to second this. Most fraternity members, particularly in the South, would at the very least offer a veteran a drink and a handshake.

Some girls have that talent, ya know, to make you keep looking. I'll go ahead and indulge her narcissistic lifestyle.

oakbourne is much better imo. Unless you're a body builder

but that's just based on the people. The gym is better at reds

Know a few people who work out at Red's. All I ever hear them talk about are the old men who hang out virtually all day in the locker room blow drying their junk.

I went to grad school in Lafayette and the two things I can tell you for sure is the food is amazing and they have an abundance of talent. Good luck to you.

This is fricking terrible. If you can last the whole two minutes, I applaud you. LINK

I enjoyed all three. The ending for 3 wasn't as horrible as people say, just disappointing. You think that the choices you made actually make a difference and they don't.

Just take the games for what they are, a fun space opera with shooter & space magic elements.

Hopefully he'd keep his mouth shut so his mother doesn't find out. But if he doesn't, then I know I'll have to put on a show of coming down on him.

And I think LTM makes a good point. Low-paying jobs generally attract applicants of a lower socioeconomic status, and people of those classes show higher statistical correlations to criminal/trashy behavior.

Increasing pay/educational requirements would result in more thorough screening/hiring processes, which would better protect students.

Totally true. More pay/high standards= more higher quality applicants. There will be more applicants in general, but raising the bar will get better people. The lazy HR Dept will just have to screen more. And yes, HR Dept's are lazy.

so they secretly dislike themselves and use humor to cope?

I know that John Candy was a severely depressed person due to his weight.

There was actually a study done on this. Don't ask where or who, I forgot and am too lazy to look it up. But this was their finding. Most of them are actually very depressed and use their humor as a barrier. Hence why many of the funniest ones OD- they are usually the most profoundly depressed.
