Actually, there is a lot that can be done.

100%. I watched the broadcast in the link and this schmo is a fool.

LSU Executive Director of Residential Life Pete Trentacoste says LSU has contracted with Ion for the past several years for extra space and says he has heard about the problems. “I have talked to that management team on anything that maybe didn’t meet a standard that folks want. We have that’s been addressed and any person that has been affected, we’re totally on top of

Have to disagree there bud, those videos are pretty damning and if you can’t as an LSU Director get that place in line then maybe you need to go. What an embarrassment.

At what point do we start hard core auditing and firing/filing charges against people for utter mismanagement of public funding?

Never. Their houses will keep getting bigger and bigger, off your dime.

Easy solution - get rid of the retarded rule about freshmen living on campus.

When my oldest was a freshmen at USC they had an overflow but the overflow got lucky,

Most Southern Cal freshman dorms are small cinder block rooms with no AC.

The school bought the Renaissance Hotel across the street and made it dorms and included housekeeping because they wanted to retain the staff.

My son got the prison cell room at a dorm but it did overlook the Women's beach volleyball practice facility so there was a silver lining.

Apparently, Tate wasn’t doing his job and was asked to leave.

According to this place, Tate was doing a great job because he kept his DEI agenda low key for the most part and he liked sports. Are you telling me people were full of shite about him?

I can’t believe they screwed up again this year with running out of freshman rooms. Last years it was a lot worse and kids were being put up in hotels. Kind of thought LSU would have learned from that.
And yes they ran out of parking passes for students who just tried to sign up in the past few weeks.

This state and LSU both suck so bad.

They’re admitting and recruiting minorities, regardless of qualifications. My neighbor’s son had a 4.0 gpa and scored a 35 on his ACT. Never got recruited and the parents could not even get a call back from the university. He ended up getting a full ride at another SEC school. If DEI is over, LSU sure missed that memo.

Something else fricked it up.

See my other post. The BOR allows up to 4% of the previous year’s class as exceptions. Basically it’s up to LSU and their staff to determine who is an exception and who isn’t. THAT’S what is fricking it up.

Why, specifically did he think he was at Southern?

And why would that matter to him?

Because a degree from Southern isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on?

As in the amount of black people?

That has nothing to do with the conversation, though. Southern's degrees don't have low value due to the racial breakdown of their students. It's the quality of students-teachers in the system.

The assumption he (and now you) seem to be making is that black students somehow have an impediment being qualified for LSU, based on nothing more than their race.

My children toured dozens of schools in the Southeast as they made choices for their schooling.

LSU put on the absolute worst tour and it was not even close. We were dumbfounded at how poor it was. My oldest still brings it up.

Add in that LSU did nothing to try and recruit them despite excellent grades, test scores etc. Meanwhile, most of the other schools were aggressively recruiting them with scholarships, promises of the best dorm options, etc....

The organization at LSU is a blackeye on the state.

Sad for this alumnus to say.

Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and let’s throw in New Mexico in an effort to not discriminate vs the Deep South are always about 10 years behind the rest of the country .
