It’s an Indian symbol of peace. They renounced the symbol after the nazi fiasco but that’s what it was before they got ahold of it.

It’s an incredibly ancient symbol
It alludes to the “spinning” sun. Like a rotating body leaving trails as the inside spirals out. Much akin to a hurricane symbol.
It’s mainly a Hindu symbol. Aka “Indian”. Which is why Hitler adopted it because it’s a proto-Indo-European symbol aka “Aryan”. Most people equate “Aryan” with being white but Aryan actually means in the most sociologically sense “Indo European”.
You see it in Buddhist culture as well because Buddha was actually Indian. He wasn’t “Asian” like Eastern Asia... but south west Asia aka India.
