Maybe we should let them know how we feel about their packages.

They've already publically stated this as the end goal.

You got a link? Curious who said it.

It’s funny how the success of the program corolates to the great tailgating and atmosphere. If LSU was coming of a playoff appearance no one would be bitching about tailgating atmosphere.

Not sure if it has been mentioned in this thread, but University of Alabama has done something similar with renting out spaces/tents on the quad. It has always grinded me the wrong way, trying to make a buck off folks just hanging out. At first, though, it wasn't a real bad deal. You could get the cheap package which included a tent set up for you and some chairs for nominal rate. You could look at it as saving you the effort of setting it up for yourself and not having to clean up, either.
Fast forward to now, and it costs considerably more, where it is now virtually all corporate tailgating

And not much else ruins good ole tailgating with the fellahs than having to "behave" at one of the company tents.

I really need to see the deed that some of you have, to claim so much land that is LSU Campus.

Just told my wife if anyone gripes about our tailgate charge this year just send them a copy of this price list. Makes ours look cheap . But I predit the day where LSU will have a map and you will have to pay for your tailgate spot.

Yeah cus not selling corporate tailgating space is what has held this program back.

Bro, a big and giant problem with LSU Football right now is that Joe Alleva has completely corporatized the gameday atmosphere to the point where gameday on LSU is not as fun as it used to be anymore and is actually quite the buzzkill.

It was fun when rednecks and coon asses would come into town and it would be a party. And now they're completely priced out.

Anyone who doesn’t think the gameday atmosphere has changed drastically in the last 10 years doesn’t know what campus was like in the 80s, 90s and 2000s. It’s a shell of its former self.

I wasn’t around then but I believe you. The atmosphere is stale and feels inorganic. The silver lining to LSU fading back into mediocrity is that people will be less willing to buy into this extraneous bullshite and it will go away. Then those who are at the game because they love the Tigers won’t feel like they are being squeezed out.

The problem with this is that large corporate environment isn’t even selling out all the season tickets, and corporations only want to buy tickets because their clients want to go, but when that stops it all goes down hill. You lose the atmosphere that the corporations want to be a part of and they stop buying huge allotments of season tickets. Remember they didn’t get to be huge corporations by throwing away money.

LSU just hates tailgating for whatever reason

They like it. They just don't like that students and alumni can just drive up on campus and tailgate for free when there's people that are willing to pay money.

I’m really curious to see how many customers they are anticipating, and how many actually sign up.

My 2017 LA Tax Return is the deed that says LSU Campus is mine to use within reason. You do understand that it is a state PUBLIC university?*

*Let me stop you before you do the standard internet hyperbolic response. I know there are limitations to that use and access but it is still a public school and I don’t agree with Alleva wanting to make it into his version of a NFL event.

What happens to this space that will benefit the University during the remaining 355 days in the year? They used taxpayer money to tear down a building dedicated to education to make a green space that will generate money 10 days a year?

I'm sure they'll sell out their allotment in this area to corporations. Which will make them look elsewhere next season to expand on these type of packages forcing your long term average fans out.

No it isn’t. It’s Joe Alleva and yet another money grab.

The rub is that new green space could’ve been simply allocated for public use. A great goodwill effort for LSU athletics. He’ll, even brag about doing it!!!

But, no. It’s the Duke reject’s way of continuing his plow through LSU. It sickens me to see him in his purple blazer......he is no LSU man. He is simply an employee failing at his job. An employee who had no business being hired. How Verge doesn’t lose his mind dealing with him is beyond me.
