How much longer will they last? Grabbed the hose to wash off the windshield today and my truck (white) was overtaken by the little bastards. The more I sprayed the more they attacked.

I’ve never seen love bugs around my area like this before. It’s like they want to commit suicide. They fly into everything I am working on outside.

I keep getting a sensation of joy every time I see a post about termites swarming or love bugs, being that I moved away from the gulf region a few months ago. I washed my cars the other day and had zero dead bugs on them. When I lived along the gulf there were seasons that you couldn’t read a single number or letter on car tags from all the dead bugs. The yellow seat on my John Deere riding mower or anything bright colored would be covered with love bugs crawling and fornicating all over it. I hated those things. Same with termites, if you had a small gap on a window seal during swarming season, those things would end up all over the house.

There are definitely more love bugs this year than any year in recent memory. Still nothing like when I was growing up in Lafayette, though. You could choke on those frickers in the summer

Haven’t really noticed much of them around my part of Baton Rouge. Must be worse in rural areas.

I’ve seen some in Baton Rouge proper, but there were a ton of them when I had to drag down into Plaquemines last week.

Spray bottle
1/2 water and 1/2 hydrogen peroxide

Spray then wait 5 minutes and wash off with wash cloth or rag and bucket of plain water.

Was gonna ask if everyone was smashing them to death. They seem very early this year????? Also termites are swarming like crazy. Can't even get out of your car under a lit area. They land all over you.
