She says she had ordered seeds from amazon.

yeah right

I read an article saying that’s how they got the addresses of a lot of the recent recipients. Apparently they placed orders for seeds before on Amazon and other websites. Then they started sending the mystery packs.

So she probably did order seeds from Amazon...but chances are that she already had received those.

First of all:

Secondly, I find it extremely hard to believe the authorities don't know what type of plant they are and what they do. If they were harmless, they'd have told us by now.

Leave it to a dumb frick from Louisiana to receive unsolicited seeds in the mail, from CHINA, during a pandemic that CHINA started, to fricking see no problem with planting them. This state is hopeless.

I Laughed.

Wouldn't that be equivalent to planting them in the land fill?

Yes! I think in Virginia they were telling residents to throw them away.

When they end up in a landfill, covered in dirt with all sorts of other weird shite, I wonder what will happen?

Not if it's a 3rd party seller on Amazon not fulfilled by Amazon...

Yes, but you still know when the package you receive is what you ordered or not. There's a packing slip inside with order info. Did she not get suspicious when there was nothing and it didn't look like the seeds she purchased? How naive is this woman?

Or maybe that is exactly the type of seeds that she received and she recognized them. She did put them in a "pot".

Kudzu is almost 100% edible and is anywhere not maintained in the south.

I don't understand people who order seeds from Amazon. Do they not have CO-OPs or feed/seed stores in alot of areas? Do these people not know that seed catalogs exist? Seed exchanges on the interwebs? All of these are much better, more regulated, and knowledgeable sources than some random person on Amazon.

I’ve seen some ignorant people, but this lady is up there.

“Huh, I got some seeds from China i didn’t order, let’s go throw them in the ground and see what happens! Maybe they’re magic beans!”

Really? I would plant them. It would be cool to see what grows.

How is it that a botanist has not figured out exactly what the seeds are by now?

In every news story I've seen about this the seeds look different. So I think there are multiple seeds they are having to try to identify.
