I guess we’re poor in Kenner.
I’ll trade being a poor city for one of the safest in the state all day.
Kenner 2nd Safest City in Louisiana

Scarsdale, NY is $250k for comparison purposes. They also pay $20k+/yr in property taxes to be in one of the the best school districts the country.

70780... Average of 78k.
That's actually impressive seeing as how 30% have no tax liability.

That will change if one or two families move out of the area.

My area made both lists!

Those Texas zip codes may be misleading. I think they have very few people in those zip codes where the average income is over $600k.
From other articles, the richest zip code in Texas is located in Houston. It’s West University with an average income of $240,000.

pretty impressive considering half of this area is pure ghetto

Makes sense. 70810 has both the University Club and it looks like CCLA in it. Funny that Gardere is in the same zip code.

yeah 71106 would be the highest if it weren't for East 60ish street through east 70th

They’re using average income. Not median.
Yep. This is an average and includes the former St. Thomas projects. That area drags the average way down.

Mayfair, Gardere, and Village St. George areas are dragging us down.

We have a lot of $0 incomes affecting rankings.

This will shatter the pride of the Lafayette folks that brag about River Ranch being the richest spot in Louisiana.

That's actually much lower income than I expected the "richest" zip code in the state to be.
That's the average because New Orleans is checkerboard with ghetto. Even in the nicest neighborhoods, there will be a block or two of section 8 houses. People on entitlements have $0 reported income, so they drive the average way down.
