People who live in River Ranch, or any other affluent neighborhood in Lafayette, are likely well-traveled, and don't have any false idea that they live in the richest spot in Louisiana.

I was thinking that as well. Says a lot about the job market there...
Says more about the demographic not being homogenous, lots of poor people in that zip code to bring the average down.

A lot of people in this thread don't know what "average" means.
What makes it funny is that the self proclaimed, or insinuated, OT ballers are the ones laughing at the income.

A zip code is actually a pretty big area geographically. I think you're going to tend not to have a whole zip code be elite wealthy, especially in a small city like New Orleans.

70817 makes the list. St George would be the wealthiest city in the state.

Kenner 2nd Safest City in Louisiana
you realize that list you posted has Kenner ranked 11th out of the "11 safest places to live in Louisiana" right?

Is Mound anywhere on the list? There’s only like 10 or 15 that live there but one of them is, I think, a big farmer and grain elevator owner, anyway he’s a millionaire so it skews the median income there to like $200k

Yea I figured there would be some Delta zip codes in there but I guess the poe folks out weigh the farmers. The only one from around here was North Monroe.

This is a great place to start for a “Where the blacks aren’t” list as well.
