NOLA has all the costs alot of bigger cities, without the salaries to go with it actually

With a less effective police force and a functional retard for mayor.

Doesn't 70130 include a big part of the Irish Chanel? I wouldn't consider that an incredibly wealthy area. People forget the NOLA landscape where you have a 2 million home on St. Charles and then 3 blocks back you can find a $50k shotgun house.

You're adding at least a zero there in the Irish Channel these days.

Some people need to learn that tax avoidance is an important concept in developing and managing wealth. Not the same as tax evasion.

I disagree with how they define rich, as only income is being measured.

If you look at median income in some areas in New Jersey and New York where the cost of living is much higher, I don't understand how the people there afford it.
There's some hidden layer of income in those places that balances out the top incomes when calculating the median.

yea so basically it's a completely worthless stat

They do also include the percentage of population reporting over 100k income, which is probably a better indicator than average.

I wonder how that compares to California's riches zip code. Probably somewhere in Malibu about 10x's higher.

If you live in a richer area of Malibu you're well beyond the point of even needing an income

Lots of people in those zip codes have a frick ton in the bank from inheritance and don't earn a lot from their jobs.

Did this include gap gains?

This should include everything that goes on a tax return it appears

So inheritance could throw this off, but gains shouldnt

If they aren’t using net worth then these ranking are just dumb.

Impossible to get though. But yes, net worth is far more important here
