From the website:
quote:

31 Louisiana cities met the criteria for ranking.

I’m not sure what the “criteria” is, but these are 10 out of only 31 options.

quote:

Louisiana has the highest property crime rate and the fourth-highest violent crime rate in the US.

So basically ranking these 10 cities is like ranking the best seats on the Titanic.

Zachary is pretty much 50/50 black and white. I’m a little surprised to see it on this list because the place started going down hill a long time ago which is exactly why I left.

Can’t stand these stupid data driven rankings. They’re so skewed and invalid. Sulphur, Kenner, Gretna, Harahan and Slidell are most definitely not top ten safest in LA.

You mean to tell me that Slidell is safer than Lafayette? False.

The good neighborhoods in Lafayette are as safe as you're going to get in Louisiana, but there is some hoodrat ghetto shite that goes on in north Lafayette.

Color me shocked.

Assume it's population based. 31 most populous cities in Louisiana would put the threshold at 15k residents. It wouldn't really be fair to compare places with a couple hundred residents to cities with 100k+.

This website is the only place that acts like there is all this violent crime over there. I don’t understand why that myth is out there

Exactly. I lived there for 17 years and crime didn’t even register as an afterthought.

Ruston is about as safe as you can get. You can’t get in trouble here unless you’re looking for it.

Shout out to Broussard/Youngsville! Ain’t no riffraff coming through Sugar Mill Pond and all these other roundabout neighborhoods!
