You mean to tell me that Slidell is safer than Lafayette? False

This website is the only place that acts like there is all this violent crime over there. I don’t understand why that myth is out there.

It's because the rest of the northshore makes it look like Mogadishu.

Grew up in Kenner then River Ridge....never gave crime much thought but that was a few decades ago. Had the same beliefs about New Orleans but that notion faded years ago

If it were top 11, New Orleans would be on the list right?

Wasn't a Williams Bvld/W. Esplanade Shell station attendant recently executed after cooperating & giving up the register? Or was that last year?

Yes. So does that mean crime is rampant more so than other cities?

I know for a fact Youngsville is 95% white, I live here.

Anecdotal facts people know are often different than actual facts.

The three towns on the list in the Lafayette Area

Youngsville:

White: 81.26% Black or African American: 12.70% Two or more races: 3.21% Asian: 2.38%

Broussard:

White: 82.58% Black or African American: 14.67% Asian: 1.28% Two or more races: 1.22%

Scott:

White: 77.59% · Black or African American: 11.69% · Asian: 5.26% · Two or more races: 2.92% · Other race: 2.22% · Native American: 0.32%

ETA: I live in Lafayette very near the Scott/Lafayette border. Where I live was between Lafayette and Scot when I was younger, there is basically no in between now.

Race makeup by parish. The bluer, the more white. The more purple, the more black.
