It will cause some problems for older folks and people with compromised immune systems but if you’re health at least meh, you’ll be ok.

Jim, you’ll be able to work from your office as you normally would. We’re talking about offices who 6+ employees regularly.

now it should have been 2 weeks ago, but that's optimal. no reason it shouldn't have been in effect prior to last weekend
What other US cities were on lockdown two weeks ago?
Nola started canceling schools, sports, Parades, etc 10 days ago. Is that good enough?

I’d imagine because you’re a shitty lawyer.
I’m gonna have to do some research and figure out why you’re so much of a pussy

most major coastal cities should have been on lockdown 2 weeks ago as well. i've said that for a bit
this is hindsight, but it's what should have been done (and we're there now, so it's not some shocking policy at this point)

But you continue to blame Louisiana and New Orleans.

it's not "blaming" Nola, as in the population (although last weekend was on them)
it's blaming our state government and the government in Nola, sure

Hmmm... should I go to the store to see if there is any Blue Bell left?
Posted on 3/20/20 at 4:14 pm to Batman Chalupa
Literally zero reason to announce a “shelter in place” if it is actually no different than what’s currently in place.

It’s an embarrassment that Louisiana doesn’t have e-filing uniformly
Posted on 3/20/20 at 4:16 pm to NIH
our clerk is on the verge of it, allegedly. this may push it over the top.
it's hard enough to get small town lawyers to scan and email. i can only imagine the revolt when e-filing comes to the entire state

Doesn't matter, his writ would be denied, anyway.

It’s different. They will force the closure of all “non essential life sustaining” businesses.
You can still go get a haircut or go to a clothing store right now.

A lot of judges here will use this as vacation but theoretically we are still filling and getting orders signed like normal

i could get civil orders signed if it was necessary. i'm about to sign a PO and i bet that gets signed within a reasonably normal time
criminal is up in the air. there's a rumor going around that everyone is getting ROR bonds, which isn't true, but it's hard to believe it when lots of people are getting them. the DAs office closing, effectively, makes that hard. i was in criminal court Tuesday and have some next week. we'll see if it's still going
family court? no idea what's going on there
