call me an optimist (probably not the right word), but i think teedy imposed the mandate at this time so she could take credit for cases falling and can claim she "saved mardi gras".

Which means mask mandate incoming today.
Like mother fricking clockwork.
Bring it back when they reach the peak, inevitably decline in cases/etc. like the previous 4 times, then pat themselves on the back and call themselves heroes for bringing in the mask mandate, thinking that they actually work.
It's amazing to me that these adults believe this mother fricking garbage, especially since this has been done like 4 times now. Same shite, different toilet.

We just got this - I haven't been to a facility in five years so no sweat here
To our Valued Team Members,
In conjunction with OSHA’s Emergency Temporary Standard and out of an abundance of caution, we are changing our requirements regarding facial coverings. Effective immediately, all non-vaccinated employees must wear a facial covering inside office facilities or at work events. We will update signage on the doors of each office location and issue a revised Pandemic Standard.
Your cooperation with this requirement is greatly appreciated.

Yeah it sucks. I just ordered new comfortable masks.
The thinner the better.

This weekend may be a little early, but I fully expect it to be close by next weekend. The upswing started on 11/27 from our low of 0.9 and it hit 1.0 on 12/2. Rt peaked right around Christmas Day at 1.94 and started falling 12/29. Roughly 30 days from low to high for this surge- my prediction is 1/25/2022.

I've watched this in the past and Texas is about a week behind LA in the Rt charting. We are at 1.45 and falling. This will be old news soon except in most blue states.

They buy it because of the lagging indicators. We’ll still have really high numbers the few days after mandate, and they’ll claim it’s because it takes time for the mandate to work. Then #s drop like a rock and everyone praises our lord JBE. It’s pathetic that we have such a large percentage of the population that believes anything out of any politicians mouth without researching themselves

Good stuff. I remember questioning the accuracy of this number during the Delta spike, but it ended up being spot on despite the error bars. Hopefully we get a few months of peace before the next strain causes mass panic.

Still don't know what Rt means

Pretty sure NE States are falling rapidly as well, even more rapidly in fact. I know Mass. already claims they are pretty much past the Omicron surge.

Don’t tell pride. He says it will be a couple more weeks before we peak.
I kid. I think pride is a good dude.
