It's your own personal QR code and when scanned by any LEO it will show them a copy of your DL along with validating the vehicles registration, proof of insurance etc...
It will also alert the LEO of any outstanding warrants completely eliminating the need to radio dispatch for said info unless it's discovered that you aren't the registered owner of the vehicle
Can’t the LEO already check all of this info from your license plate, before he gets out of his car?
Wouldn’t you want to know whether someone has outstanding warrants before standing there next to his window to scan his QR code?
Let’s be honest here.. this is about money.

Why do these cities require emissions tests?
Posted on 4/9/26 at 11:18 am to justjoe906
How long before I can start getting a fake one? I have not gotten a real inspection sticker since 2015(other than when a new vehicle came with one), and never once had an issue with the popo.
Just like the fuzz, I like my tint on my truck and do not plan on removing it.

Most of the country has done away with vehicle inspection requirements.
South Carolina used to require inspections, did away with that probably 35+ years ago.
It was a scam anyways.
Think they made up the $$ difference lost not having inspection revenue by raising yearly registration costs.

Jeff Landry and most of our podunk legislature are fricking morons.

Per Louisiana antique car registration regulations, motor vehicles that are at least 25 years old classify as antique or vintage rides

Under the Clean Air Act, the United States Environmental Protection Agency sets limits on air pollution. These areas are typically over the limit and I assume due to refineries and chemical plants.

There is a lot to dislike Landry over. Mostly related to corporate handouts and cronyism. Plus the constant push to increase gubernatorial control over all aspects of the state.
What get's me is that Louisiana could have completely gotten rid of income tax and fully funded his LA GATOR scholarship program with the added sales tax. Instead, they cut corporate/commercial rates, set a flat 3% income tax, and left no money to pay for GATOR.
Yes, the legislature passed the law but Landry's people authored it.
But the boat purchases over $200k no sales tax issue is really a non-issue as previously all of those boat were purchased and registered in tax-free states (FL). So previously LA saw $0, now LA will occasionally see the tax on the first $200,000.

Why do these cities require emissions tests?
Ozone levels were above the human health criteria so the area was categorized as not attaining air quality criteria.
EPA approved DEQ's request to redisignate the area from "non-attainment" to "attainment" in 2017 which includes a 10 year period to show continued compliance. So the need for emissions testing should fall off in 2027. Ideally the state will have trigger rules in effect to get rid of emissions testing once they are no longer required.

I seen somewhere if passed the state would lose $10M a year in revenue.
If I'm not mistaken, the $6 sticker cuts out the $4 that the service station received, so they're losing $10MM in revenue, but the state will still get theirs.

Ok thanks. To me it seems those locations are plants, so should be harassing the plants vs drivers.

1) he has done a really good job on economic development, do some damn research
Data centers. Quick hit of cash with minimal direct jobs. Demands on the grid and water consumption. Power companies swear no bills will be increased for the public. Some states have already started putting bans on them or moratoriums. Might be a good idea before you make a deal with the devil the governor should do his research or our governor is too retarded to realize he is making a deal with the devil. Just fricking yahoo it and go all in, get that quick hit of cash, give meta, Google or whoever all the tax incentives at the expensive of the state/tax payer so you have the headline. Meta/Google aren’t looking for partnerships, they are looking for the best deal possible and whoever they can take advantage of. I wonder who they thought they could take advantage of?

2) yea insurance rates are high...do you think the governor has unlimited power and just waves his magic wand to make it go down suddenly?
No he’s not a ruler, but he is a trial lawyer. Hey you know who runs the legislature? Lawyers and Insurnace agents. They have the magic wand and they ain’t waving shite to solve this problem. You know that our last governor was a lawyer? You know who has written all the legislation on tort refom? The same lawyers who do all the litigating in our courts and make bank. Ask any trial lawyer and they will laugh at the tort reform and tell you it’s a paper tiger.

3) yea infrastructure sucks....are you under the impression that is started sucking suddenly under him and he isnt doing anything to help?
It will continue with him. He’s to busy getting those social justice wins and owning the libs.

I forget you are the smartest man on TD. All anyone has to do is ask you and you will let them know.

You go frick yourself bro. You are one of the biggest dipshits on TD with an ego to go with it. I’d expect nothing less from a plant Baw engineer.

but since you are so smart, please please point out the exact policies he asked for that have been passed that make the state worse. please im very interested
Never said anything about being smart, you are smart enough for all of us. I’d say I’m in the know though and can read between the lines. I didn’t say anything about policies that make the state worse either. His programs and executive orders do not move the state forward.

How so? If you don't have a QR code sticker, you're in violation? It's just another sticker.
But if you dont live in an emissions parish you dont have to go to a place for an inspection.

Well, then I guess your QR code also won't require a renewal.
What vehicle registration do you have that doesn't require a renewal?
