Lots of positive news out of Louisiana on the industrial front.

Carbon Capture is one of the biggest scams the government ever perpetrated. It was nothing more than paying tax money people who buy into radical "environmentalism".

Yea but if they exist, I’d rather the credits bring jobs to Louisiana instead of other states. We need to keep adding to the momentum anywhere we can right now.

The D4 RIN is up almost 150% just this year.
You want to know a big part of your gas/diesel price increase someone should start talking about that.
Not sure either side wants to shine light on it since the dems want the credit for green energy and the repubs fricked up the calc this go round to give a lot of money to renewable refiners.

Ehh...not so much. Those people/groups/NGOs who buy into radical environmentalism, the enviro-commies, by and large don't have anywhere close to the amount of money to construct such projects.
The timeline/history of this federal taxpayer funded boondoggle, in simple summary, kind of went like this:
Biden EPA to O&G and petrochemical industries: "We control the narrative right now on global warming in the media, and the blame is on you. We demand you start reducing your CO2 emissions, which our base support believes is an evil greenhouse gas, or we will start coming down heavy on you."
Industry: "Well...we already have the technology to store large amounts of CO2 in the ground, but it's really expensive to do large scale. We'll have to divert capital for drilling wells, which means less oil on the market, which means gasoline prices will rise even more. It also means the cost for products like plastics, fertilizer, etc. will increase. Voters will blame you since you're in power."
Biden Administration/Congress: "Hey...what if we GIVE you money to put all that CO2 in the ground?"
Industry: "Well we sure as heck won't turn that down. Deal."
President Trump running in 2024 to get back in the White House.
Industry: "Hey, we prefer the way you worked with us previously rather than the way the Biden Administration kept changing rules on us, lashing out at us in the media, etc; but some of us have already invested in this carbon capture stuff to get them off our backs. We've sunk money in this stuff. Please don't mess with our credits we need to at least get our ROI back."
Trump Administration and Big Beautiful Bill: "Don't worry. We'll figure something out. We don't want you to lose money."
Landry Administration in Louisiana: "Thank you, Mr. President. This will help bring some jobs to Louisiana that we need."

This is the only thing making SAF profitable as it's generally 2x-5x more expensive to make than fossil jet fuel.

They're making their fuel from logging thinnings (although from the scope they've mentioned I think it would have to be a full blown logging operattion instead of just thinnings), even with the wood being free it's still not viable without the tax credits from CC/CS (because they are going to be sequestering the CO2 from the fuel creation process).
I think a lot of the hope of the industry that enough federal funding for long enough will "fuel" (heh!) enough creation of technological refinements and infrastructure growth to eventually make the industry profitable without the government's aid.
This completely ignores that these "carbon credits" are a complete fricking scam to begin with. I get the idea of "if it's happening, we might as well get paid for it" but that just exacerbates the problem by lending it legitimacy.
