North LA has very little economic development. It’s concerning for that area of the state and why the population in a place like Shreveport has dropped from 200k to 170k.

South LA has done a pretty good job attracting industrial type facilities, but has work to do obviously. We need more white collar jobs now.

I don’t think it’s all doom and gloom, especially with some recent announcements. But North LA is concerning.

It's scary how stupid some of these people are. In all three branches of government too. It's not limited to one.

The really bad thing about it is if you look at the numbers the other big states that are losing population like your New York’s and californias and Illinois the people who are leaving are mainly lower and middle income people and retirees who are leaving because the cost of living and tax burden is too high. The people leaving Louisiana on the other hand are educated people leaving for better opportunities to better themselves and their families because they see no opportunity in Louisiana. Almost like refugees or something. It is bleak.

All insurance sky high, taxes high, lack of good jobs, lack of education, should I go on?

This is true. Problem is that Landry has done nothing to remove one of things that was a big part of Jon Bel's stamp, a lawsuit happy environment that is detrimental to growth in some fields.

Lee Mallet being appointed to multiple high level positions given his checkered history that's readily searchable online isn't giving people much hope for our political climate.

If I had emergency lights on my vehicle like an LEO or garbage truck that made it safe(r) to stop on a bridge, I would do it.

Same for all the various bolts and garbage I see in intersections. I'm often tempted to hop out and pick it up to try to save someone a flat, but I decide the risk of death from idiot drivers is not worth it.

The only southern state that isn’t gaining any population is Louisiana.

He's a picture perfect example of the good ole boy system. Any man that's effed up as much as him would be living in a used trailer barely scrapping by.

Not attacking you exactly, but people who say this are usually the first to complain about their kids/grandkids leaving for jobs or elderly programs being cut. If you support something then support it fully, don't get mad at the blowback the policy causes.

Can we get some of that population loss in Ascension Parish? We’re full up, thanks

State actually gained population the last two years due to more births than deaths and international migration, but was negative for domestic migration so the headline is a little misleading, but it looks like we’re gonna avoid losing a congressional seat where as earlier than decade we were predicted to lose one

My Grandpa says this has been an issue since the end of WW 2.

It was also bad during the 1980s when you could buy a used work over rig

for 20 K.

Engineers couldn't even buy a job then.

He tweaked the tax code, but you are right; he hasn’t done much.

He’s been a lackluster governor.
