Why are all the models including the euro trending towards colder and a significant snow/ice event yet the forecasters are all shitting on it?
It’s usually the forecasters fear mongering and models are meh.
Im concerned many people won’t prepare for a week without power due to ice because the meteorologists are saying rain with wintry mix and temps won’t really get that low while the moisture is over us

Winter weather is an entirely different animal for on-air mets. They're not going to go out on any kind of limb as far as winter weather is concerned.

I've never liked the idea of having water above my head in a home. I know alot of builders put water heaters in the attic, but I've never been a fan.

I heard it thunder today. The (really) old folks say thunder in February, frost in April. So frost on April 10? I’ll jot it down on my weather calendar.

Think about how many stupid people are out in the world.
Now think about there’s probably 2x that many stupid people in reality. You already make forecasts in the single digits in South Louisiana and you’re going to have a lot of people in panic mode and the meteorologists will be held responsible.

GEFS has every member with snowfall for Monroe, with the mean at 9". Some of the members have some comically large numbers.
