I mean if it stays above 32 it won’t freeze obviously and it’s not supposed to get below that which would mean no freezing.

This is probably wrong but I think as long as the wind is blowing it won’t freeze
Probably an old wives tale

It's 39 in Houma and 39 at KREG by I-10 in Gonzales. The "warmer" air is on the way towards Baton Rouge as the low and warm front approaches the Louisiana coast.

The temperature hanging around the freezing point isn't ideal. Need it to bump up several more degrees to be safe. If the atmospheric temperature is higher, then the rain will be warmer and help to continue to raise the temps enough to prevent further freezing.

What a mess on top of what was already a mess.
Good riddance to winter 2021. Looks like a few more days then back to Spring in about 8 days.

Hey baws. Scheduled for LASIK in BR this afternoon. If I left New Orleans at 1:30, could I take I10 the whole way? Says it’ll be low 40’s and thunderstorms the entire way. Will all the bridges along I10 be iced over?

quote:hey baw. is getting LASIK done today worth the risk of you ruining a vehicle or losing your life? You'll likely be fine. but, is it worth the minor chance that you won't?

It's in the 40s from Nola to near the EBR line so you shouldn't have any problem getting to that point.

Shreveport has lucked out with almost exclusively sleet so far.
