everyone has rumors. mine is from an oschner employee who said they are expecting phase 1 ahead of the holiday weekend.

That's fricking retarded.

Can we starting getting people banned for posting stupid stuff like this?

Sorry people, but if you don't see what's happening you're an idiot. They are out here telling you that a large portion of the cases are "maybe".

I just like that no one asks "why" in these scenarios

It's always "I heard from someone in the know that we're moving back to phase [whatever]"

It's never followed by any reason. Does no one ever ask these "sources" why?

Yeah, Edwards is going to sprain his wrist due to all that hard finger wagging he's got to do at us poor, ignorant citizens!

Do the folks at LDH think a turkey breaths out of it's snood and/or wattle?

Because the first turkey is adequately covered as far as respiration is concerned.

Agreed. Is it just supposed to be an angry cat scolding us, sans mask no less?

Total cases by collection date on or after 11/10/2020 - 22,311, plus hospitalizations equals 23,363. The number I posted yesterday using the same methodology was 22,268. There are 1,095 more active cases today than yesterday, an increase of 4.91%. 3,242 of the 3,266 new cases are from test dates during this time. The oldest case reported today was from April 25th.

40,000+ tests? How is that even possible? Alabama typically reports 7-10k per day. Using 40 PCR cycle tests, it isn't surprising that you get a lot of "cases." How many of these people are actually sick?

Part of it is if anyone in Louisiana has any kind of medical procedure(like I do in a few weeks) they have to get a COVID test!

Yeah I get that. It is like that in AL too. But the number of tests being done in LA is off the charts. I don't understand how that is being done, and it is almost certainly a sign that there is some real mischief in these numbers.

There is also a lot of fear porn that people in LA are buying into. I know someone who works in the ER and they say they are inundated with people coming in with mild or no symptoms trying to get COVID tests. They will often fake or lie about symptoms to try to get the rapid tests too.

Most of them are coming in because they think they may have crossed paths with someone they believe tested positive. And the ER cannot turn them away, they have to process the tests.
