Wasn’t the poll about people complying with the order and not if they agree about with it.

I remember that year when the LSU poll included a question about monuments and 70%+ wanted to keep them up. I wonder why they never asked that question again.

I’d also like to see the wording of the question they asked about SAH Order and what dates the poll was taken. Two weeks ago we were in a different boat much less 3-4 weeks ago.

No, he said it would go away if we get R0 under 1 for an extended period of time. That is true.

What is also true is we won't get R0 below 1 of we start re-opening. So, let's all hope that's not his true goal. He did say "that's the goal".but I took that as "thats the best case scenario" and not "that's what we're working toward"

Didn't watch, but will give him the benefit of the doubt that he didn't say anything this dumb. The simple fact is that we are well past the point of diminishing returns from the shut downs. It is never going to get "better" or "safer" than it is now. Not in June, not in July, not ever until we get a vaccine. We are not getting R0 under 1, and neither is anyone else. People are just going to have to accept that and learn to live with this thing for a while. It is past time to open up and carry on.

I got the LSU poll. It was imho pretty slanted how no matter what you answered it would come out if favor of approving of the stay at home order and it was more about compliance,

I didnt' watch and I won't give him the benefit of the doubt. Sorry. He admitted to never even thinking about opening by region ... how do you not even think of that??? I have zero faith in him at this point.

Completely agree with you on this.

He verbatim said our goal is to get the R0 under 1 “and this virus will disappear”

That isn’t interpretation, that’s what he said. That is an absolutely batshit and completely unrealistic goal

To give someone context, someone asked about the R0 and how it affects his decision making. He went on a diatribe about how the original R0 was 2.7 and now in LA they estimate it to be 1.1 - 1.4 (I don't remember exact numbers), and mentioned that anything under R0 of 1 phases the virus out and "that's the goal".

So it took 6-7 weeks to get it to where it is now? So another 6-8 weeks?? Screw that.

It’s batshit retarded under any context

If phasing this virus truly out of existence is your goal, that means your plan needs to be to basically lock everyone away. It will never get close to disappearing with any semblance of an open society

I don’t know if it means anything but starting May 18th our state office building is preparing to have 50% capacity of all workers there at one time. Right now it’s around 20%.

That but his councel answering the House right now for the bill to remove his power cited a recent poll of overwhelming approval for how he is handling this

In my opinion covid-19 will be around for years and year to come. I don’t see it ever disappearing

They are still going

Main reason against it is the fact that no one will know who is in charge because parish presidents will make a rule but each mayor can override that & there is no way to contain people in their city

I thought he said it was between 1.3 and 1, but I could have heard wrong. He started with an example of 4 - that one person with it would pass it on to 4 people. Then he said was ours was once (2.something I think), then went to the present number as stated above then said that under 1 the virus would fade away.
