Scheduled to end 6/05, I think everyone here is expecting JBE to find a reason to extend it again.
Do people REALLY think that or do they just love to say things like that?
He's not going to extend it.

He did it once so its probably 50/50 on people who believe it or are just pissed at him doing it the first time so they like to say it.

Agreed

He didn’t have a reason to extend it the first time and he did it anyway. He didn’t have a reason to make phase one 21 days instead of 14 but he did that too.

He is a Democrat looking for more Federal money. My first thought is that he extends it. How can you be so certain that he won’t? Based on his actions, I would say it is 75/25 to extend.

I'll say it again.
These numbers are dropping like a stone.
I really believe the thread a while back about 34% of Germans having an inherant T Cell linked immunity may be true.
The numbers make no sense if 10-15% of population have antibodies.
There's gotta be something else at play.

He's made the planned phase two 21 days as well...

My parish went from 63 to 167 in five days. Today, we went from 167 to 75. This is absurd.

That's a shame. Based on the #'s if he was to use actual logic he'd go from Phase 1 to 100%. There is absolutely no need at this point to continue going through phases. I mean there are only 800 people in the entire state in the hospital for christ sake. By the time June 5th rolls around that # will probably be 700.

I think people are expecting us to move to Phase 2, but are also mentally preparing for Phase 1 to be extended another 2-3 weeks. The reality is, we probably should already be in Phase 2 and waiting for Phase 3 to start.
He used data for 3 specific regions as a reason to extend Phase 0 another 2 weeks because they were either at a plateau or increasing. However, 2 weeks later 2 of those 3 regions were still increasing and we still went into Phase 1.
Then information came out that we need to spend over $661M under the emergency orders in order for the State to get an additional bailout (90% paid by FEMA, instead of 75%). Since we do not know where we are from a spending perspective, there is also concern that it'll be extended to maximize our federal dollars, not public safety.

I would think some of these may be patients being re-tested to determine if they’re still contagious. This may be spiking up statewide numbers as well. I know several people who had to test weekly for a month until a negative result was given. Some workplaces require 2 negative tests after being positive to resume work.

It's propaganda nonsense. There will not be any extension of Phase 1.

30 days ago we were at 1701 hospitalized. We're now less than half of that.
At the start of "Phase 3" on June 26th...we'll be at 405 hospitalized if we keep this trend up. That's 0.0086% of the population in Louisiana.

Nursing home or prison numbers?
I mean there will be positive cases. It’s bound to happen. Majority will be fine.

I can be certain because I can see what is going on.
He does not have the political will to extend, the legislature has made that VERY clear. Ya'll need to stop panicking about every little thing just because he's a Democrat. The writing is on the wall.
Not only will he not extend, but the Phase 2 restrictions, while possibly a longer period of time than necessary, will probably be a bit looser than everyone thinks.
Relax.

Very good numbers since patio dining opened on May 1. Many people stopped caring around that time (remember Louisiana getting an “F” for social distancing) and the numbers have not spiked. Should bode well moving forward.
