Was looking around at the numbers in the nursing homes and saw some interesting results. First of all, as of Monday the census was 23,882 residents in nursing homes across LA. Of those, 4,381 tested positive. Those figures are lower than I expected, then I started questioning the actual figures when I saw these results:
St. Anthony's Nursing Home in JP: 54 Residents, 59 positive cases among residents, 109.3% of residents test positive?
Old Jefferson Community Care Center in BR: 81 R, 83 cases, 102.5%
Highland Place Rehab and Nursing Center in Caddo: 115 R, 125 cases, 108.7%
High Hope Care Center in Calcasieu: 65 R, 66 cases, 101.5%
Encore Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Acadia, 59 R, 60 Cases, 101.7%
Booker T. Washington Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Caddo: 35 R, 70 Cases, 200%. Did they all catch it twice

When does phase one here in Louisiana technically end? Like when should we expect his announcement??

Some of that might be explained by employees testing positive... but probably not the 200%.

I imagine the number of residents are current numbers, where they've likely had deaths, removals, or transfers to lower those numbers when compared to number of positives.

So what you’re saying is that I should be locked and loaded with alcohol on Monday. I can do that.
I wouldn’t want to be in any position of authority and have to decide these things but I seriously feel numbers have been whack from day one. It’s serious. It’s real. I know 13 or more people who’ve died where I work but shite — it’s time to open. Even our front line non tik tok video making nurses say so.

Census wouldn’t include cases that were transferred to hospitals and are no longer in the home...which I would expect to disproportionately affect the nursing home population compared to the general public.
Maybe JBE should hire me since I said “disproportionately.”

I'm positive the books are being cooked, however the residents/positive cases bit is misleading. The current number of residents at a facility may be 100, for example, but at the time they tested there may have been 125. Residents who have died or left the facility are not removed from the confirmed cases.

Hell based on “lets not overwhelm the medical community”, hospital numbers should be the considering factor in my opinion.

Recovered data is 2 days old. 14 days from 5/24 is 5/10. New cases: 5/10 - 5/11 = 398
6,360 Active cases (0.14% of LA population)
831 in Hospitals
5,529 Conservative estimate of cases not in hospitals (0.12% of LA population)
Really surprised there wasn't a larger bump for recovered cases considering the huge backlogs they were clearing at the beginning of last week.

Does it maybe include all who’ve tested positive even those who died? Yes they have their own column but it was still a positive test??
I know the home where I work is listed as not the total cases — we had way more than listed but some died and maybe weren’t recorded?
Maybe nursing homes are reporting differently which would be insane. It can’t be that hard.
