3 straight days of deaths rising.
JBE is a fool to go to Phase 1. He's trying to kill you all.

So, by today’s numbers, it took 30.6 tests to find 1 positive case.

32,050 active cases
2,281 deaths
22,608 (recovered as of 5/10)
7,161 Active cases based on data provided. Enter assumptions
Recovered data is 2 days old. 14 days from 5/10 is 4/26. New cases: 4/26 - 4/27 = 556
6,605 Active cases
1,320 in Hospitals
5,285 Conservative estimate of cases not in hospitals
Obligatory: The 14 day guidelines are given by ldh and based on when the patient tests positive. The information that we have readily available is when the positive test result is known, not when the test was administered. In addition, the date of the onset of symptoms does not matter either.
If you add the new cases from 4/29 through 5/12 (14 days), you get 4,761 cases. 7,194 cases from 4/22 through 5/12 (21 days)

Thought I saw someone mention a few days ago that LA was going to go back with listing the # of cases by nursing home/LTC facility. Does anyone know where to find that information?

They will I believe on the 18th. I guess on their LDH corona page — maybe just another tab like the other stats??

Why is there such a huge discrepancy in number of tests performed each day?
