Nursing homes, prisons & hospitals need to continue to limit visitors & have strict procedures in place for keeping staff healthy
Everyone else needs to open up

A lot of the stuff we're doing and are discussed as needed go against knowledge and recommendations that both the WHO and CDC already have in documents, as recently as 2019.
Granted, those documents are for influenza pandemics, but I believe that applies here.

You wanted to both starve it out and generate herd immunity and create a vaccine? Why even need the vaccine if you did either of first two. If you did first one why need last two.

I was hoping the poster I made that reply to would give a legit answer, but I suppose they aren't around at the moment.
As for contact tracing, that's something that the WHO does not recommend in instances of flu pandemics.
